The Program Officer will advance the educational and implementation research agenda of the PEP MTCs program while spearheading institutional-level advocacy initiatives. This position is dedicated to enhancing research methodologies, fostering the adoption of cutting-edge teaching strategies, and rallying greater financial support for cardiometabolic disease (CMD) education and research across CHALK Medical Training Colleges.

Collaborate on the design and execution of educational and implementation research initiatives centered on CMD (Common Mental Disorders).

Advocacy at MTCs Level
Spearhead advocacy efforts in CHALK MTCs to promote the integration of cutting-edge instructional approaches, including digital, blended, and simulation-based learning methodologies.

Collaborate with CHALK MTC leadership, faculty, and students to foster endorsement for curriculum reforms and pioneering teaching methodologies.

Monitor institutional-level research and advocacy initiatives to ensure they remain on track.

Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, supplemented by at least 2 years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proven expertise in project management, data analysis, and strategic planning is essential. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are required, along with proficiency in industry-standard software tools. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and relevant certifications is a plus.
A master’s degree in public health, education, research methods, or an equivalent field is required.
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a medical-related field, including nursing, Clinical Medicine, or Laboratory Science, is required for this position.
Minimum three years of professional experience in education research, advocacy, or the strengthening of health systems is required.
Proficient understanding of chronic malnutrition diseases (CMDs), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and workforce development challenges in Kenya.
Proven track record in institutional advocacy and strategic engagement with senior academic leadership.
