Role Description

This full-time, on-site position for a Business Development Manager – Pensions (Corporate/Retail) is located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The role entails leading a team to uncover business prospects within the pensions sector, cultivating and sustaining robust client relationships, and devising strategic initiatives to expand presence in both corporate and retail pension markets. Key responsibilities involve preparing and delivering compelling presentations, conducting in-depth market research, evaluating trends, negotiating agreements, and coordinating with internal departments to fulfill client requirements while advancing the company’s objectives.

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill a critical role within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience, along with a proven track record of success in similar positions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, and advanced certifications or specialized training are highly desirable. The successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, adaptability in dynamic environments, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is a must, and experience in a fast-paced, results-driven setting is preferred. This position demands a proactive approach, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Experienced professionals with a strong track record in Business Development, Sales, or Client Relationship Management within the pensions or financial services sectors are encouraged to apply.

Possesses advanced proficiency in Market Research, Data Analysis, and Strategic Planning, with a proven ability to extract actionable insights and drive informed decision-making. Demonstrates expertise in leveraging data-driven methodologies to assess market trends, evaluate competitive landscapes, and identify growth opportunities. Skilled in synthesizing complex datasets to develop actionable strategies that enhance business performance and operational efficiency.

Commensurate with this role, a strong aptitude for articulating ideas clearly, delivering compelling presentations, and engaging in strategic negotiations is essential.

A solid grasp of Pensions Administration, Financial Products, and Regulatory Compliance is required.

Accomplished professionals should demonstrate strong expertise in networking strategies and the cultivation of client relationships to drive business growth.

Demonstrates strong self-motivation and accountability in achieving established performance benchmarks without direct supervision.

A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline is required, with a Master’s degree serving as a favorable credential.

Proficiency in the African financial services industry or pensions sector is highly advantageous.
