Role purpose

This position will develop and execute a forward-thinking, high-impact learning strategy and curriculum designed to strengthen both organizational and individual capabilities across global and local teams, ensuring all employees are fully prepared with the essential skills and knowledge to achieve outstanding outcomes. By championing best practices in learning and leadership development, the role cultivates a culture of ongoing learning and inclusivity. It plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission by empowering employees to perform at their highest potential, advancing equity, and elevating overall operational effectiveness.

Oversee and manage all principal accountabilities, including the development and execution of strategic plans that align with organizational objectives. Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while ensuring accountability for results. Drive operational excellence through the implementation of best practices, process improvements, and performance metrics. Collaborate with senior leadership to define priorities, allocate resources, and monitor progress toward key milestones. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and internal policies while mitigating risks through proactive measures. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to enhance communication, transparency, and alignment across departments. Serve as a key decision-maker, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support informed business strategies.

Develops and maintains the organization’s comprehensive learning and development strategy, frameworks, and curricula—covering leadership, mandatory management training, personal effectiveness, and other key organizational capability domains—ensuring they are adaptable, scalable solutions that enhance overall organizational capability.

The development, delivery, and implementation of a Global Leadership and Management Curriculum designed to enhance SCI Leadership and Management behaviors.

Partners with People Partners, the Head of Talent, and additional key stakeholders to evaluate learning requirements, develop thorough learning strategies, execute targeted interventions, and oversee the successful implementation of high-impact development initiatives.

Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment by embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion principles throughout all training materials and methodologies.

Assess the impact of learning interventions by consistently gathering feedback, tracking progress, and compiling reports to drive ongoing enhancements and maintain alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Champion the cultivation of cultural competence across the organization by fostering awareness, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultural perspectives in every learning initiative.

Develop strategic alliances and collaborations to secure funding and maximize the impact of educational resources vital to Save the Children’s mission.

Oversee the Learning and Development budget and shape global funding allocations for L’D initiatives.

Coaches and cultivates the skills and potential of the Learning and Leadership Team, as well as the wider learning and development community.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required for this position, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Candidates must possess at least three years of experience in a related role. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is preferred. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is a must.

Recognized HR qualifications are strongly preferred, with a focus on continuous learning being highly advantageous, though not mandatory.
