The role encompasses a diverse array of duties and responsibilities, including:

Delivers visionary leadership to steer the company’s operations, cultivating an environment that elevates corporate reputation, upholds ethical standards, and ensures strong governance practices.

The incumbent will execute the Board’s resolutions efficiently and promptly to advance the company’s strategic priorities while ensuring Board papers are meticulously prepared, pertinent, and delivered to members ahead of schedule. Serving as the vital intermediary between the Board and Management, this role demands precision, responsiveness, and a commitment to aligning operational actions with governance objectives.

Leads the investigation and evaluation of geothermal resources, oversees the design and construction of geothermal infrastructure, and manages the drilling operations for geothermal wells.

Develops steam fields and oversees the responsible stewardship of geothermal resources, ensuring sustainable extraction and utilization practices.

Drives the advancement, deployment, and market adoption of geothermal direct use initiatives and technologies.

Manages Human Resources to ensure peak productivity by implementing policies and strategies designed to attract and retain high-caliber, competent personnel in alignment with the approved establishment.

Offer strategic guidance to both the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary regarding the nation’s energy composition and the formulation of sectoral policies.

Ensure timely and consistent communication with the Board regarding critical technical, financial, and administrative developments.

To formulate and present to the Board the Company’s annual business plans for approval.

Person Specifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

A minimum of fifteen years of professional experience is required, with at least ten of those years spent in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a related field.

Earned a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.

A Master’s Degree from an accredited university is a prerequisite for this position.

We require completion of a leadership development program of at least four (4) weeks’ duration from an accredited institution.

Professional certification and affiliation with a relevant professional organization, as applicable, are required.

Proficient in utilizing a variety of computer applications effectively.

Ensured compliance with the provisions outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Demonstrates proficiency in critical competencies and essential skills relevant to the position. Exhibits strong analytical capabilities, effective problem-solving techniques, and adaptability in dynamic environments. Maintains a collaborative approach, ensuring seamless team integration and fostering productive working relationships. Possesses exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to convey complex information clearly and concisely. Demonstrates proficiency in industry-specific tools, software, and methodologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational excellence.

Able to develop and execute effective strategic plans with a forward-thinking approach.

Analytical prowess is essential for this role, requiring the ability to dissect complex data, identify meaningful patterns, and derive actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
