Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this role entails leadership of all quality assurance functions, with responsibility for directing quality control initiatives throughout the supply chain, administering audit protocols and compliance frameworks, and guiding quality assurance teams. The position demands rigorous enforcement of local and international food safety and export guidelines—including Global. A.P., HACCP, BRC, phytosanitary regulations, and any additional customer-specific mandates—to ensure full regulatory conformity.
Performs essential functions and contributes to organizational objectives by executing a range of critical duties and responsibilities.
Maintains and enhances quality assurance and food safety systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Oversees routine inspections and audits to verify adherence to established protocols. Identifies potential risks in production processes and implements corrective actions to mitigate hazards. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices in food safety management. Provides training and guidance to staff on quality and safety procedures, ensuring a consistent understanding of requirements. Monitors corrective and preventive actions (Caps) to address deviations and prevent recurrence.
Develop, execute, and oversee robust quality assurance frameworks, food safety protocols, and stringent quality benchmarks to ensure avocado maturity, size, color, firmness, appearance, weight, ripeness, and overall product uniformity are consistently met and maintained.
The role involves overseeing and maintaining quality standards throughout the supply chain process. Responsible for supervising quality control measures throughout sourcing, harvesting, packing, storage, transportation, and export operations. Perform systematic inspections of incoming produce and track post-harvest handling procedures to minimize bruising, spoilage, contamination, and product losses.
Ensures adherence to regulatory standards, conducts thorough audits, and manages certification processes to maintain organizational integrity and legal compliance.
Verify adherence to regional and global food safety regulations, as well as export compliance standards. Oversee internal quality audits and facilitate external evaluations conducted by regulatory agencies, certification organizations, and export clients.
Handles inquiries regarding customer complaints and implements corrective measures to resolve issues efficiently and ensure ongoing satisfaction.
Investigates customer and export partner quality complaints, performs comprehensive root cause analysis, and establishes corrective and preventive measures to minimize recurrence.
