Job Summary

This position assists in executing tax advisory, compliance, and client service projects within a fast-paced audit and consulting setting. It entails developing innovative tax solutions, collaborating on client engagements, and enhancing tax processes, client relationships, and business development efforts.

Oversee the full spectrum of operational duties, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards. Key responsibilities include managing daily workflows, optimizing processes, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role entails supervising teams, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative work environment to enhance productivity. The position also demands strategic planning, performance monitoring, and reporting to senior leadership, with a focus on driving efficiency and innovation. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset are essential for success in this capacity.

Act as the primary liaison for key clients, cultivating strong relationships while providing forward-thinking, high-value tax advisory services.

Lead and oversee tax engagements encompassing advisory services, due diligence assessments, and comprehensive tax health evaluations, delivering high-quality results consistently and on schedule.

Compile and validate tax computations and returns with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Conduct thorough, scheduled tax assessments for clients to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Provide assistance during regulatory audits by representing clients and addressing tax-related issues to ensure compliance and resolve outstanding matters efficiently.

Craft / evaluate tax advisory opinions and offer expert counsel regarding tax legislation and compliance matters to ensure adherence and clarity.

Responsible for coaching and nurturing tax associates, enhancing their proficiency in tax analysis through targeted development initiatives.

Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and maintain accurate documentation to uphold organizational compliance requirements.

Craft compelling proposals, deliver impactful client presentations, and provide strategic market insights to drive business development initiatives forward.

Enhance internal development by refining tax processes, methodologies, publications, and tools—such as tax alerts and thought leadership content.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is required. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are expected. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards is required. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is critical. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential traits.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a closely related discipline is required.

Holding a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya qualification is essential for this role.

A qualification in Tax, Customs, and Revenue Administration from KERA—either a Diploma or Certificate—would be highly beneficial.

Experienced candidates must possess a minimum of three years in tax consulting or administration, with at least one year in a senior-level role.

Demonstrates a strong comprehension of tax regulations and accounting principles.
