POSITION SUMMARY:
The Protection Associate will spearhead the delivery of structured case management services for refugees and asylum seekers facing psychosocial challenges. This position involves conducting assessments, developing case plans, coordinating referrals, and ensuring consistent follow-up to guarantee individuals receive prompt, confidential, and tailored support. Additionally, the Associate will enhance integrated, client-centered case management frameworks within HIS programs, integrating MHPSS principles into comprehensive protection strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform comprehensive intake assessments and conduct thorough vulnerability screenings to determine client needs, subsequently designing tailored case plans to address those requirements.
Ensure prompt referrals to suitable services and consistently follow up to track progress and assess outcomes.
Document and maintain comprehensive records of all case-related information within the case management system, ensuring adherence to confidentiality protocols and data protection regulations. Prepare and disseminate detailed reports to support and guide programmatic decision-making processes.
Maintain and refresh service mapping and referral pathways on a consistent basis to facilitate integrated case management.
Professionals in this role assess and determine individuals in need of advanced mental health interventions, then facilitate connections to suitable care providers. By evaluating patient needs and clinical requirements, they ensure timely and appropriate referrals to specialized mental health services.
Incorporate foundational psychosocial support strategies into case management practices to uphold a trauma-sensitive and client-focused methodology.
Engage in community outreach initiatives to connect with at-risk populations and assist them in accessing essential case management resources.
Facilitate the implementation of community-driven systems to securely identify and connect individuals with necessary support services.
Facilitate mental health and psychosocial awareness initiatives aimed at fostering help-seeking behavior and combating stigma to cultivate a supportive and informed environment.
Work collaboratively with protection teams to deliver unified, comprehensive assistance to vulnerable individuals, addressing issues such as violence, child protection risks, and other protection-related concerns.
Develop and sustain productive collaborations with partners, community organizations, and service providers to enhance referral systems.
Compose comprehensive and punctual reports detailing case management activities, emerging trends, challenges encountered, and identified service gaps.
Track emerging client requirements and assist in enhancing program offerings and strategic response initiatives.
Ensure adherence to HIS policies regarding safeguarding measures, accountability to affected populations, and data protection protocols.
The position involves facilitating training initiatives and strengthening the capabilities of staff and community participants in case management fundamentals, secure case handling protocols, and ethical guidelines.
Execute any additional responsibilities as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, coupled with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in data-driven decision-making are essential, as is the capacity to work effectively in fast-paced environments. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate across teams and convey complex information clearly. Familiarity with industry-specific tools and software is highly preferred, along with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
A qualification in psychology, sociology, social work, community development, or a comparable discipline is required.
A minimum of one to two years of professional experience in case management roles within Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) or protection programming is required.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience collaborating with refugees or other vulnerable populations.
Proficiency in case management principles, adherence to IAS MHPSS guidelines, and implementation of safeguarding frameworks is required.
Proficiency in Accountability to Affected Population principles is essential.
