The ADT Africa Regional Partner possesses extensive experience in private equity within emerging markets, with a strong focus on regulated financial institutions that are pioneering digital financial services tailored for MSMEs, smallholder farmers, and low-income households.
The ideal candidate will possess practical expertise in utilizing technology to drive growth within financial institutions, working in tandem with ADT’s Operating Partner, Action Advisory, Action’s financial inclusion advisory team, and other specialized groups to craft digitization strategies for clients. This role involves engaging with shareholders, boards, and management teams of portfolio companies to foster alignment and ensure strategic objectives are met.
The Africa Regional Partner will oversee an Investment Analyst, tailoring the scope of oversight based on portfolio scale and regional opportunities. Investments in Africa are projected to constitute approximately 25% of total investible capital, potentially encompassing co-investments by limited partners.

Collaborating closely with the Managing Partners, the Africa Regional Partner oversees the complete investment cycle for the Africa portfolio, spanning from deal sourcing to execution and exit, while also providing global support to the team as required. Essential investment processes involve:
Evaluating potential equity investment opportunities that align with ADT’s commitment to impact investing and its focus on digital transformation.
Developing and managing the creation of comprehensive financial models, projections, and valuations to evaluate potential equity investments and divestments, while also presenting findings to limited partners.
I deliver comprehensive deal analyses and strategic investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
Leading deal negotiations and execution, with responsibility for overseeing all legal documentation and maintaining strict adherence to ESG policies.
Overseeing the equity portfolio and establishing and implementing ethical commercial exit strategies for portfolio companies.
Collaborate with the digital transformation team to craft and execute a digitization strategy aimed at enhancing value creation for potential target companies.
Deliver strategic guidance to portfolio companies by cultivating strategic partnerships, securing new debt and equity financing, and contributing valuable input on key decisions—particularly those centered on ESG and digital transformation initiatives.
Serve as the ADT representative on the boards of portfolio companies, as deemed suitable.
Develop co-investment consortia and cultivate robust relationships with co-investors.
Offer continuous assistance to the Operations and Finance teams regarding portfolio company valuation and reporting functions.
Collaborate effectively with Managing Partners to cultivate a compelling brand and foster a vibrant organizational culture, ensuring AIM consistently aligns with industry-leading standards and best practices.
Facilitate investor relations and due diligence processes for prospective investors.
Represent AIM within the Africa market and on a global scale, engaging in professional development initiatives and knowledge exchange both externally and collaboratively with Action as needed.
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in software development. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential. The ideal applicant will possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions. Experience with Agile methodologies, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices is highly desirable. Proficiency in database management, system architecture, and version control tools is required.
With over fifteen years of steadily advancing investment expertise in private equity, particularly within financial institutions and fintech, the ideal candidate will bring a proven ability to identify, spearhead, and successfully conclude transactions across the African market.
Seasoned professionals must possess substantial knowledge of financial services and financial technology, with a particular emphasis on operating frameworks, regulatory landscapes, and competitive forces within African markets.
Demonstrates a strong track record in developing and implementing regional investment strategies, encompassing the creation of proprietary pipelines, the recognition of emerging trends, and the alignment of investment initiatives with broader organizational and impact goals.
Experience in collaborating with financial institutions to foster value creation, encompassing the development and execution of digital strategies aimed at enhancing financial inclusion, is required. A solid grasp of innovative approaches in financial inclusion is essential, while prior entrepreneurial background is advantageous.
