Job Summary

The Manager I: Underwriting role entails overseeing the streamlined evaluation of insurance risks in compliance with established guidelines, with the objective of bolstering business retention, expansion, and overall profitability.

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team, where you will be responsible for overseeing key operational tasks, ensuring seamless workflows, and maintaining high standards of efficiency. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive project execution, troubleshoot challenges, and deliver measurable results. Additionally, you will be expected to uphold strict compliance with company policies while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Thorough evaluation of risks associated with diverse insurance categories is conducted to ensure comprehensive assessment and mitigation.

Providing guidance to clients, brokers, and agents regarding insurance premium calculations.

Compiling required premium, sum insured returns, and summaries in accordance with IRA/AKA guidelines.

Collaborating closely with the Reinsurance Section to assess and address risks necessitating facultative reinsurance placement.

Overseeing the initiation of debit entries for all new and renewal transactions while ensuring strict adherence to established turnaround times.

Reviewing and endorsing tasks in accordance with established authority thresholds.

Accurately processing policy documents and endorsements while ensuring compliance with established turnaround times.

Professional versions:

1. Responsible for dispatching Renewal Notices to clients and intermediaries in strict adherence to established protocols and quality benchmarks.

2. Tasked with the timely issuance of Renewal Notices to both clients and intermediaries while maintaining compliance with predefined standards.

Offering guidance on business development regarding any risk factors during renewal, particularly in situations where the loss ratio is unfavorable.

Managing incoming and outgoing mail in strict adherence to established mail handling protocols ensures efficient and accurate correspondence processing.

Addressing customer grievances in strict adherence to established complaints’ management protocols.

Analyzing, advising on, and implementing risk mitigation strategies across diverse risk categories form the core responsibilities of this role.

Ensuring adherence to all reinsurance stipulations to mitigate risk and achieve organizational objectives as outlined in the business plan.

Compiling monthly reports and performing additional tasks as assigned by management.

Reviewing and validating all documents prepared and processed, subsequently granting official authorization as required.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, delegating assignments, and managing workflows to ensure efficient task completion and correspondence distribution.

Credit control responsibilities include the issuance of cancellation notices to manage outstanding accounts effectively.

Resolving internal and external audit discrepancies promptly while adhering to established deadlines is required.

On a monthly basis, BAM reports are monitored to ensure accurate and timely data analysis.

Evaluate the footprint system and related processes to uncover opportunities for enhancement and optimization.

Responsibilities include assessing employee performance, delivering targeted training programs, and fostering professional growth within the team.

Assisting with the execution of diverse initiatives and projects within the department as required.
