Position Summary:

As Nespresso’s Coffee Strategic Planning Manager for Africa, you will collaborate closely with the APAC & Africa Regional Coffee Program Manager to advance the company’s coffee sustainability and sourcing strategy across the African continent. This role will encompass the leadership of strategic planning efforts, performance-driven sourcing initiatives, sustainability programs, and key stakeholder engagement activities, all while spearheading critical transformation projects aimed at fulfilling both regional and global objectives.

Contribute to the formulation and implementation of regional coffee sustainability strategies.

Examine data to extract meaningful insights that drive informed strategic decisions.

Oversee performance-driven sourcing initiatives and ensure adherence to supplier sustainability standards.

Supervise digital traceability programs and ESG performance enhancement efforts.

Oversee the implementation of budgetary controls to ensure adherence to financial plans and sustainability objectives.

Source and evaluate potential funding sources to advance innovative projects.

Conduct operational reviews and serve as the regional representative in global meetings.

Develop strategic alliances with regional organizations and facilitate sustainability-focused communications initiatives.

Your ideal background should encompass the following professional attributes and experiences:

A master’s degree in business management, agronomy, or a closely related discipline is required.

Minimum seven years of professional experience is required, coupled with a keen business acumen.

Demonstrated expertise in crafting strategic initiatives, leading organizational change, and fostering productive relationships with key stakeholders.

Accomplished in directing projects, facilitating clear communication, and demonstrating effective leadership capabilities.

Demonstrated enthusiasm for sustainable practices and coffee culture is essential.

Proven capability to collaborate seamlessly with diverse teams spanning multiple cultures and disciplines.

Proficiency in sustainable sourcing, agricultural practices, or ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing team performance, and ensuring project deadlines are met. You will collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes and enhance productivity. Duties also involve analyzing data to identify trends, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing strategic improvements. Additionally, you will lead meetings, prepare reports, and maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
