The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a range of duties and fulfilling key responsibilities, including, but not limited to specific tasks outlined in the role. Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment across all facilities to guarantee optimal performance and efficiency.

Perform regular inspections, tests, and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems in strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines and safety regulations.

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems, identifying issues at the component level and performing corrective repairs to enhance equipment longevity and minimize replacement expenditures.

Maintain, repair, and upgrade air conditioning systems and related ventilation controls to sustain ideal indoor air quality and comfort levels.

Design and execute preventive maintenance programs for HVAC systems with the goal of enhancing reliability and minimizing operational disruptions.

Ensure the quality, safety, and performance standards of HVAC work conducted by third-party contractors or service providers through thorough oversight and inspection.

Maintain meticulous and comprehensive records and documentation for all HVAC-related operations, encompassing maintenance schedules, service reports, and technical drawings.

Verify that HVAC controls and automation systems are accurately calibrated and configured to optimize energy efficiency and maintain consistent operational performance.

Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all tasks involving refrigerants, electrical systems, and mechanical components.

Offer expert technical guidance and support to management and maintenance teams regarding HVAC systems, addressing both operational challenges and enhancement opportunities.

Additional duties deemed reasonable and relevant by the line manager may also be required.

The position necessitates a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a comparable role, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional training. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, and candidates must demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines is critical. Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory requirements is also required. Additionally, prior experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in IT support or a comparable role. Proficiency in network administration, troubleshooting, and system maintenance is essential, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as virtualization technologies, is required. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of attention to detail is critical. Certification such as Compton A+, Network+, or equivalent is preferred.

A high school diploma or its equivalent, such as the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE), is a mandatory qualification for this role.

A recognized institution must have awarded a Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or an equivalent technical qualification.

With a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair within institutional, industrial, or commercial settings, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in system diagnostics, component replacement, and preventive care to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Proficient in environmental and safety regulations pertaining to refrigerant handling and system maintenance is required.

Skilled in installing, maintaining, and diagnosing HVAC systems with a strong technical background.

Experienced in identifying issues efficiently and resolving them with precision while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Demonstrates strong capability in organizing and prioritizing maintenance activities efficiently.

Maintains accurate and thorough records, ensuring all documentation is complete, organized, and up-to-date.

Effective collaboration, clear communication, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
