Seeking a driven Business Development professional to identify and pursue new market opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships and expanding the company’s client base. Devise and implement a monthly strategy aimed at expanding practice operations, alongside establishing quarterly benchmarks for revenue generation, pipeline development, and client acquisition.

Develop high-quality leads by leveraging professional networks, referral partnerships, events, and strategic outreach initiatives.

Ensure a consistent pipeline of no fewer than five qualified prospects is maintained each month.

Establish and oversee a minimum of four ongoing strategic referral partnerships each year.

Craft monthly thought leadership content, such as tax insights, analyses of the Finance Act, audit readiness guides, and webinars.

You will serve as the firm’s official representative at IC PAK events, industry forums, and other professional engagements, ensuring a strong and cohesive presence.

Develop and expand a skilled tax and audit team by recruiting top talent, fostering professional growth, and aligning individual performance with strategic objectives to drive practice expansion.

Tax, Audit & Compliance professionals play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory adherence, and operational integrity for organizations. They conduct meticulous reviews of financial records, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks. These experts assess compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, providing strategic recommendations to enhance governance and transparency. Additionally, they collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline audit processes, prepare detailed reports, and support decision-making with data-driven insights. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting principles and regulatory frameworks are essential for success in this role.

Ensure the firm’s statutory tax compliance obligations are met with precision and timeliness by overseeing the preparation and filing of all tax returns.

Lead tax compliance initiatives by overseeing engagements in corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Excise Duty, NSSF, SHIP, Housing Levy, and Installment Tax filings, all processed through the tax system.

Provide expert tax advisory services encompassing strategic tax planning, corporate structuring, thorough compliance reviews, and tailored tax optimization solutions.

Perform comprehensive evaluations of tax-related health and risk factors, delivering strategic recommendations and detailed remediation strategies to address identified concerns.

Act as an advocate for clients in engagements with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), handling audits, compliance evaluations, disputes, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings, and proceedings before the Tax Appeals Tribunal.

Track legislative and regulatory developments closely, promptly distributing client updates and advisory notes to ensure informed decision-making.

Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership regarding tax implications, financial exposures, and regulatory considerations impacting the organization and its clientele.

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Prior experience in project management and a track record of delivering results are highly desirable. Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices is a must.

A Chartered Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA(K)) qualification, accompanied by an active and compliant membership in good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (IC PAK), or an equivalent qualification such as ARCA or Chartered Accountant (CA).

A recognized university degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field is required.

A minimum of three years of progressive tax and audit experience within a professional services setting is required.

Proven success in business development, demonstrated through client acquisition, revenue generation, successful proposal wins, or expansion of market presence.

Seasoned professionals with a track record of successfully overseeing full-cycle statutory audits, from initial preparation through final execution, are sought after.

Relevant experience in handling client representation matters before the Kenya Revenue Authority is essential.

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing audit software platforms, including but not limited to Caneware and Craftwork, is required.

Proficient in utilizing accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP platforms.

Requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with expertise in data analytics considered a plus.
