Job Summary

Our client in the hospitality sector seeks a committed and diligent Kitchen Steward to enhance back-of-house operations. The successful candidate will uphold rigorous cleanliness and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen, manage dishwashing and equipment cleaning, oversee waste disposal, and ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations within a fast-paced five-star hospitality setting. This position demands a highly organized, physically capable, detail-focused professional who can perform efficiently in a demanding high-standard hospitality environment.

Promptly and efficiently, wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.

Ensure that kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation areas remain consistently clean and well-maintained at all times.

Ensure all kitchen equipment and supplies are handled, stored, and organized correctly in compliance with established standards.

Provide essential assistance to chefs and kitchen personnel with preparatory tasks and operational duties as needed.

Handle waste materials in adherence to established hygiene and safety protocols.

Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of garbage collection areas consistently.

Responsibilities include replenishing cleaning materials and promptly advising supervisors when stock levels are insufficient.

Operate dishwashing machines and other sanitation equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols at all times.

Support cleanliness efforts for conferences, banquets, and other large-scale events by ensuring meticulous upkeep throughout the proceedings.

Maintain impeccable cleanliness and presentation standards consistent with five-star hospitality protocols.

Handle cleaning requests from the kitchen and food & beverage teams without delay.

Oversee and maintain comprehensive deep cleaning schedules alongside regular kitchen maintenance tasks to ensure optimal cleanliness and operational efficiency.

Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in a similar role, demonstrating a proven track record of success. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal applicant will exhibit exceptional organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is mandatory.

A high school diploma or a recognized certificate in hospitality is required for this position.

A qualification in Food Production, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline is highly beneficial.

Seeking a candidate with at least one to two years of hands-on experience as a Kitchen Steward in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting.

Preferred candidates will have prior experience in fast-paced or luxury hospitality environments.
