This senior position oversees the seamless and high-impact execution of a broad portfolio of programs, guiding a cross-functional team while fostering strong collaborations with global partners to advance research excellence. Overseeing key responsibilities such as managing daily operations, ensuring adherence to company policies, and maintaining high standards of efficiency and productivity across teams. Additionally, the role involves collaborating closely with department heads to align objectives, fostering a culture of accountability, and driving continuous improvement in processes. The position also requires overseeing financial performance, analyzing data to identify trends, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance organizational growth. Represent LSTM in engagements with governmental bodies, funding organizations, research collaborators, and regional and international stakeholders.

Serve as a senior operational liaison, fostering collaboration between internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless communication and alignment of objectives.

Design and establish program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and comprehensive performance frameworks to measure, track, and evaluate program outcomes effectively.

Your role involves contributing to organizational design initiatives, facilitating workforce planning strategies, and enhancing governance frameworks.

Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and data governance policies.

Convene project meetings and participate in steering committees to ensure alignment and progress.

Responsible for directing the financial oversight of research grants, including the development and maintenance of budgets, financial forecasts, and comprehensive reporting mechanisms.

Establish and integrate uniform program management standards, tools, and processes throughout LSTM Kenya.

Ensure work plans are executed with precision, guaranteeing timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and strict adherence to budgetary constraints.

Ensure compliance with donor requirements and audit readiness

Ideally you will demonstrate:

Qualified candidates must possess a master’s degree or demonstrate substantial, equivalent expertise within the sector.

Professional experience in program and project management is required.

Experienced professionals sought to oversee expansive, collaborative health research initiatives, spanning multiple partners or international jurisdictions, with a strong track record in program management.

With a proven track record in overseeing the administrative aspects of clinical trials and research initiatives, you possess hands-on experience in managing operational workflows, compliance documentation, and regulatory submissions to ensure seamless trial execution. Your expertise includes coordinating with cross-functional teams, maintaining meticulous records, and implementing efficient processes to support the successful delivery of research programs.

Seasoned professionals with a strong track record in overseeing quality assurance initiatives across multiple project portfolios are encouraged to apply.

Experience working in Kenya or similar health research contexts

Achieved a strong track record of effectively overseeing research grants within academic institutions, clinical environments, or nongovernmental organizations.
