Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance (GALA) in EMEA delivers strategic guidance on commercial, regulatory, governance, and compliance issues, fostering business growth while safeguarding Ericsson’s interests and corporate standing.
As Group Legal Counsel within the East & North Africa legal team, you will provide leadership and support for legal matters spanning designated regions, covering commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory compliance, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions and trade controls, as well as dispute resolution. You will collaborate closely with business and legal stakeholders to address high-value customer and supplier agreements, strategic partnerships, corporate transactions, governance initiatives, and advisory assignments.
As a member of the Customer Unit East & North Africa legal team, you will report directly to the Head of Legal for Customer Unit East & North Africa, with the position based in one of the territories within the region.
What You’ll Do
Serve as a reliable legal advisor, delivering pragmatic and strategic counsel to align with business goals and facilitate successful deal execution.
Drive and facilitate high-stakes negotiations for intricate agreements involving key customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks while enabling growth and transformation.
Provide expert guidance on matters pertaining to corporate governance, adherence to regulatory requirements, competitive landscapes, data protection protocols, intellectual property rights, and trade control regulations.
Develop and maintain robust connections across diverse business units, functional areas, and global regions, cultivating an environment of open communication and mutual accountability.
Facilitate capability development by providing coaching, mentoring, knowledge dissemination, and promoting best practices.
Support an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative team culture.
What You’ll Bring
A distinguished legal professional with a minimum of seven years of experience, having honed their expertise within a premier law firm or a multinational corporate legal department.
Their background encompasses substantial expertise in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance issues.
Demonstrated expertise in managing intricate contractual agreements, facilitating high-stakes negotiations, and overseeing international business operations.
Demonstrates exceptional business insight alongside a keen ability to reconcile legal risk with strategic commercial goals.
Strong proficiency in communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management is essential, along with the ability to effectively engage and align diverse parties.
Skilled in operating autonomously while effectively engaging and persuading key decision-makers across varied organizational settings.
A background in technology or telecommunications is considered beneficial.
