Assisting in the development and execution of CFS’s strategy in collaboration with regional WBG teams, with particular emphasis on aligning with WBG’s strategic priorities across the Africa region.

EMP/M&A Advisory: Partnering with regional leadership to spearhead the identification, development, and completion of buy-side and sell-side advisory mandates, restructuring initiatives, and EMP services assignments across the Africa region.

Leading origination and execution of strategic pre-IPO advisory mandates across five regions, this role involves guiding clients through the complexities of the listing process, including evaluating appropriateness, timing, regulatory compliance, and critical strategic considerations. Responsibilities include assessing and advising on current corporate and balance sheet structures, valuation methodologies, and business planning strategies; developing detailed timelines for listing execution, broker selection, and prospectus preparation; and equipping management and the board with the necessary preparation for a successful public offering. Additionally, the position entails providing advisory services related to corporate governance best practices.

Maintaining robust connections with internal regional and industry stakeholders across Africa, this role focuses on cultivating collaboration opportunities that advance business growth and delivery in alignment with IFC’s corporate objectives.

Client Management involves collaborating with multi-regional clients and internal stakeholders to devise transaction strategies, conduct bankability assessments, evaluate funding feasibility, perform financial modeling, and develop business plans or restructuring initiatives.

The role involves preparing and reviewing essential transaction documentation and reports, including marketing materials for each transaction, information memorandum, due diligence assessments, transaction structuring reports, as well as contracts and agreements.

Providing guidance and support to junior team members, you will mentor them in their professional development while assisting in the attainment of business objectives.

Corporate Initiative: Enhancing IFC’s presence in the CFS sector by leveraging its regional brand and aligning with the organization’s broader communications strategy.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following skills and experience:

A Master’s degree—or an equivalent professional credential—in finance, business, law, or consulting, along with a minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant professional experience, is required. Candidates with a multidisciplinary background spanning two or more of these fields will receive particular consideration.

With extensive experience in equity transactions, candidates should have served as a principal investor, advisor, or underwriter within investment banks, venture capital firms, or private equity institutions.

Seeking professionals with transaction advisory expertise across buy-side mandates, sell-side mandates, and restructuring mandates, with a preference for experience in the disruptive technology sector.

Results-driven professional with a proven history of successfully executing M&A, Restructuring, and IPO mandates within demanding timelines and high-pressure conditions.

Demonstrated expertise in cultivating enduring client partnerships and effectively managing mandates in cross-border and high-pressure contexts.

Experience with initial public offerings (IPOs) on prominent global exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, is highly advantageous.

Achieved consistent business delivery, evidenced by a wealth of investment experience, exceptional business judgment, and a well-established professional reputation.

A collaborative professional with a proven track record of thriving in diverse, multicultural settings and effectively engaging with distributed teams.
