The Credit Officer will oversee the facilitation of financing for farmers to procure and repay biodigesters, assessing creditworthiness to determine eligibility. They will ensure prompt loan collections while safeguarding a robust and compliant credit portfolio in adherence to Sistema.bio’s established credit policies.
You will oversee and manage the following responsibilities:
Credit Portfolio Management professionals are responsible for vigilantly monitoring and evaluating the performance of credit accounts to uphold timely repayments while ensuring a Probability of Default (Par) of less than 10%.
The incumbent will assess credit applications in adherence to established protocols, credit guidelines, and the borrower’s risk profile, ensuring decisions are rendered within a 72-hour turnaround time.
Field Recovery Activities include conducting on-site customer visits to address defaults, negotiating feasible repayment plans, and resolving obstacles to repayment, with the objective of achieving at least 80% of monthly collection targets.
Client Support and Engagement entails instructing clients about their repayment obligations, the scope of warranties, and the potential repercussions of non-payment, all while fostering high levels of customer satisfaction.
Loan Collections involves maintaining consistent payment schedules by guaranteeing timely installment payments, reactivating inactive accounts within the portfolio, and safeguarding the on-time payments of regular customers. Additionally, the role requires conducting in-person visits to customers with overdue balances to secure payments and consistently contacting clients to establish structured payment arrangements.

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a comparable discipline is required for this role.
With a minimum of four years of hands-on experience in last-mile lending, ideally within microfinance or the SACCO sector, you bring valuable expertise to the role.
You possess robust analytical capabilities and expertise in financial modelling, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of credit risk assessment and financial products.
You possess strong capabilities in both written and verbal communication.
