Purpose

The Senior Accountant for Asset Management is tasked with overseeing all asset accounting processes, including the maintenance of the fixed assets register, managing risk associated with assets, and handling accruals and prepayments. Additionally, this role is responsible for tax filing and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, as well as preparing and reporting financial statements in accordance with relevant IFRS standards. The position also involves managing accounts payable and expenses, strengthening internal controls, assisting with audits, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities in alignment with company policies.

Job Magnitude

Latitude collaborates directly with the Finance Manager and maintains strong working relationships with Projects, Operations, and other internal departments. Additionally, the role engages with external stakeholders, including suppliers and auditors, to ensure seamless coordination and operational efficiency.

This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity by ensuring the full and precise recognition of assets, expenses, and accruals. Its influence extends to enhancing financial reporting quality, audit readiness, and stakeholder satisfaction through the timely execution of audits and the implementation of robust internal controls.

Facilitates the preparation and monitoring of budgets as well as financial forecasts to meet operational requirements.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties and responsibilities central to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Deliver high-quality work consistently while adhering to established protocols and best practices. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance productivity. Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable insights to drive continuous improvement. Maintain meticulous documentation and compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Serve as a key contributor to strategic planning and decision-making initiatives. Oversee the complete accounting lifecycle for all asset categories, including fixed assets, intangible assets, and those governed by IFRS 16, ensuring full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Perform comprehensive fixed asset verification and assign unique asset tags to maintain an accurate, real-time asset register, working closely in tandem with the operations team throughout the process.

Track and maintain accruals and prepayments, ensuring precise timing of recognition and compliance with established accounting policies.

Oversee the asset management operations, encompassing the maintenance of the asset register, generation of schedules, preparation of reports, and execution of reconciliations.

Compile audit-ready schedules and samples for assets, accruals, prepayments, and tax obligations. Provide assistance with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes.

Ensure adherence to tax regulations by managing VAT and WHT filings, performing monthly reconciliations, and updating internal ledgers accurately.

Ensure timely renewal of asset insurance to coordinate asset risk management effectively.

Conduct treasury and compliance tasks for the holding entity

Accurately document and postpone commissions in accordance with contractual obligations and projected revenue streams.

Execute any additional duties delegated by senior leadership as needed to support operational objectives.

*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.* Proven experience in software development, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant role, demonstrating proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking are essential, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) are highly desirable. Must possess a keen attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Sought are candidates with a strong command of essential technical proficiencies, including specific software, tools, methodologies, and industry standards pertinent to the role. Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is essential, with a working understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) considered beneficial.

With a minimum of six years of hands-on experience in a high-volume finance setting, you bring a deep expertise in asset management and a keen eye for compliance.

The candidate should possess exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Proficiency in utilizing QuickBooks and asset management systems is required, with a preference for candidates who possess direct, practical experience in these areas.

Proficiency in Oracle represents an additional asset for this role.
