Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, schedules, and journals, ensuring compliance with established financial reporting standards and guidelines, and conduct thorough variance analysis to identify discrepancies and trends.

To ensure precise financial reporting, audit preparedness, and adherence to accounting standards, you will compile monthly financial statements along with detailed audit-standard schedules and supporting working paper files.

Collect, classify, and document hospital fixed assets within the general ledger and asset card systems to facilitate accurate asset tracking and management.

Responsible for accepting and validating hospital gases and fuel deliveries in coordination with the maintenance team.

Compile fixed asset schedules and reconcile account balances to support the preparation of financial statements.

Deliver data regarding the valuation of fixed assets marked for disposal and ensure the fixed asset register is accurately updated and reconciled following each disposal.

On a monthly basis, systematically reduce the recorded value of the hospital’s fixed assets in alignment with established financial reporting standards.

Verify the physical presence and precise location of the hospital’s fixed assets to ensure their alignment with the documented records.

Verify that outsourced personnel complete inventory counts in the hospital’s pharmacies and generate monthly variance reports.

Conduct periodic inventory audits and expiry verifications across pharmacies, stores, and other designated departments, then compile and submit detailed reports; analyze current inventory levels against optimal reorder points to ensure adherence to stock management guidelines and prevent excessive inventory accumulation.

Address internal and external audit inquiries promptly and in accordance with established procedures.

Perform any additional duties as directed by the supervisor as and when required.

Qualifications

A recognized institution must confer a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or another closely related business discipline.

A relevant professional qualification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or ARCA, is required for this accounting role.

Experienced in financial accounting for a minimum of five years, including three years in a supervisory capacity.
