An exceptional opportunity has emerged within our Kenya Crop Protection Commercial Function, seeking a technically proficient and commercially astute professional to assume a pivotal position in strategically managing key accounts within our Large Scale customer segment and driving business expansion. This role entails the following responsibilities:

Oversee Tangent’s key customer relationships by fostering long-term value creation and cultivating strategic partnerships.

To maintain current customer relationships while identifying and capitalizing on new business prospects within the expansive customer segment.

Develop and implement sales initiatives to meet predetermined commercial targets, aligning them with the defined strategies and objectives of the Commercial Organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The successful attainment of commercial objectives is essential, requiring a strategic approach to drive revenue growth and market penetration. This role demands a commitment to exceeding sales goals while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. Key responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategies, analyzing market trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance. Candidates must possess a proven track record in sales, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to adapt to dynamic market conditions. Proficiency in CRM tools, data analysis, and a results-driven mindset are critical for achieving sustained commercial success.

Ensure the fulfillment of agreed-upon and formally documented sales targets for the designated territory.

Craft and implement tailored business strategies for each customer, establishing distinct objectives for volume, value, and profitability to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Negotiate mutually beneficial commercial arrangements, including pricing structures and promotional expenditures, to maximize value creation for all parties involved.

Oversee and regulate credit exposure while ensuring adherence to established company policies regarding payment terms.

Oversee distributor accounts to maintain zero Bad & Doubtful Debt Provision (BDDP) by year-end, ensuring compliance and financial stability.

Accurately forecast demand and oversee inventory planning in collaboration with key accounts.

Orchestrate the creation and implementation of detailed Channel Strategies tailored to the designated territory, with the goal of fostering long-term business growth and enhancing profitability.

Develop and oversee comprehensive market strategies from inception to completion, encompassing the planning and execution of marketing initiatives, sales enablement programs, and technical support operations. Additionally, coordinate closely with supply chain and customer operations teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of business objectives.

Proactively identify, evaluate, and forecast market trends while managing business risks and opportunities across key accounts by systematically monitoring market dynamics, competitive environments, and customer financial stability.

Formulate comprehensive approaches to manage commercial risks effectively, simultaneously leveraging growth prospects to safeguard and enhance overall business value.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of three years of experience in data analysis or a similar analytical role. Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R, along with strong problem-solving abilities. Experience working with large datasets and a solid grasp of statistical methods. Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to stakeholders. Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is advantageous.
