POSITION SUMMARY:
The Protection Associate will spearhead the delivery of organized case management services for refugees and asylum seekers grappling with psychosocial challenges. Central to this role are duties such as conducting assessments, formulating case plans, facilitating referrals, and maintaining follow-up to guarantee individuals receive prompt, discreet, and tailored assistance. Additionally, the Associate will play a key role in reinforcing cohesive, client-focused case management frameworks within HIS initiatives, integrating MHPSS principles into comprehensive protection strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties primarily entail executing key responsibilities that are critical to the role’s success. The position requires performing essential tasks such as managing projects, analyzing data, and maintaining compliance with organizational standards. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in relevant software and tools, along with strong problem-solving and communication abilities. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives while adhering to established deadlines and quality benchmarks.
Perform comprehensive intake evaluations and vulnerability assessments to determine client requirements, subsequently creating tailored case plans to address identified needs.
Ensure prompt referrals to suitable services and conduct consistent follow-ups to track progress and evaluate outcomes.
Document case details meticulously within the confidential case management framework, ensuring strict adherence to data protection protocols; subsequently, compile and deliver analytical reports to guide strategic program decisions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date service mapping while periodically reviewing and revising referral pathways to facilitate seamless integrated case management.
Proactively assess individuals in need of targeted mental health interventions and facilitate their connection to suitable care providers.
Integrate foundational psychosocial support principles within case management to uphold a trauma-informed and client-focused methodology.
Engage in proactive outreach initiatives designed to identify individuals in need of support and streamline their access to case management services.
Facilitate the implementation of community-based systems to securely identify and refer individuals requiring assistance.
Facilitate mental health and psychosocial awareness initiatives aimed at encouraging help-seeking behavior while fostering a stigma-free environment.
Collaborate with protection teams to deliver comprehensive and coordinated assistance to vulnerable individuals, addressing issues such as violence, child protection risks, and other relevant protection concerns.
Develop and sustain productive partnerships with collaborators, community organizations, and service providers to enhance referral system efficiency.
Craft comprehensive reports in a timely and accurate manner, summarizing key aspects of case management activities, emerging trends, challenges encountered, and any identified service gaps.
To stay attuned to evolving client demands, this role involves analyzing market trends and incorporating insights into program enhancements and strategic response initiatives.
Maintain adherence to HIS policies regarding safeguarding measures, accountability to impacted communities, and data protection protocols.
Provide guidance and facilitate the development of staff and community stakeholders through training initiatives focused on case management fundamentals, secure handling procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Execute all additional responsibilities as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our team. The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as excellent communication and organizational abilities. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is required, and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards is a plus. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Required qualifications include an academic degree in psychology, sociology, social work, community development, or an equivalent discipline.
Requires a minimum of one to two years of direct experience in case management, specifically within Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) or protection-focused programs.
Candidates with prior involvement in refugee assistance or work with underserved communities will be given preference.
Professional candidates will demonstrate familiarity with case management principles, the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IAS) Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) guidelines, and established safeguarding frameworks.
Proficient in the principles and practices of Accountability to Affected Population.
