POSITION SUMMARY:
The Protection Associate will spearhead the delivery of structured case management services for refugees and asylum seekers facing psychosocial distress, ensuring comprehensive support through assessment, individualized case planning, targeted referrals, and diligent follow-up. This role is dedicated to facilitating timely, confidential, and culturally appropriate assistance while fostering integrated, client-centered case management frameworks within HIS’s programming. Additionally, the Associate will integrate Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) principles into protection interventions to enhance overall effectiveness and accessibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform comprehensive intake evaluations and risk assessments to determine client requirements, subsequently formulating tailored case management plans.
Facilitate prompt referrals to suitable services while consistently overseeing follow-up activities to evaluate progress and outcomes.
Document all pertinent case details within the designated case management system, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality protocols and data protection regulations; subsequently, prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to support informed program decision-making.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date service mapping and referral pathways to facilitate seamless integrated case management.
A specialist is tasked with recognizing individuals in need of tailored mental health support and facilitating their connection to suitable services.
Incorporate foundational psychosocial support strategies into case management practices to uphold a trauma-sensitive and client-focused methodology.
Engage in community outreach initiatives to identify individuals at risk and ensure their seamless connection to case management services.
Facilitate the implementation of community-driven systems to securely identify and refer individuals requiring assistance.
Facilitate mental health and psychosocial awareness initiatives aimed at fostering help-seeking behaviors while combating stigma.
Work closely with protection teams to deliver unified, comprehensive assistance to vulnerable individuals, encompassing those impacted by violence, child protection threats, and other protection-related issues.
Foster robust partnerships and collaborative alliances with stakeholders, community organizations, and service providers to enhance and streamline referral mechanisms.
Compile reports that are both precise and current regarding case management operations, emerging trends, challenges encountered, and existing service gaps.
Analyze evolving client requirements and support enhancements to programs as well as strategic response planning initiatives.
Uphold HIS policies concerning safeguarding, accountability to affected populations, and data protection to ensure full compliance throughout all operations.
The role involves facilitating the professional development and skill enhancement of staff and community stakeholders in key areas such as case management principles, secure case handling protocols, and ethical guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, finance, or accounting, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in financial analysis or a comparable role. Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis is essential, as is familiarity with industry-standard software, including Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, or SAP. Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail are required. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in the [industry, if applicable] sector is a plus, as is knowledge of regulatory compliance standards.
A degree in psychology, sociology, social work, community development, or a comparable discipline is required.
Rewrite:
A minimum of one to two years of professional experience in case management, specifically within mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) or protection programming, is required.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience collaborating with refugees or other vulnerable populations.
Proficiency in case management principles, adherence to IAS MHPSS guidelines, and implementation of safeguarding frameworks is required.
Proficient in Accountability to Affected Population principles.
