Role Summary
The ideal candidate will deliver Physics instruction within both the IB MYP and DP programs, fostering collaborative partnerships within the Science Department to provide dynamic, rigorous, and student-focused learning opportunities.
Oversee and execute the primary duties associated with the position, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and objectives. Deliver core functions in alignment with strategic goals, maintaining accountability for outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and foster innovation. Design and execute rigorous physics lessons that conform to the IB MYP and DP standards, maintaining alignment with subject-specific objectives, assessment benchmarks, and inquiry-driven educational methodologies.
Design and create captivating educational activities—such as hands-on investigations and experiments—that foster students’ conceptual knowledge, critical problem-solving abilities, and scientific reasoning skills.
Develop, implement, and oversee formative and summative assessments in strict adherence to IB standards, delivering prompt, actionable feedback to foster student growth and academic success.
Employ a variety of tailored instructional methods to address the distinct learning abilities of students within a multicultural and internationally diverse school setting.
Create an environment within the classroom that is secure, welcoming, and engaging, fostering students’ overall well-being, intellectual curiosity, and passion for learning.
Maintain professional and clear communication with students, parents, and colleagues to foster collaborative and effective partnerships that enhance student learning.
You will support co-curricular programs, school-led initiatives, and enrichment activities designed to foster the comprehensive growth and development of students across all areas.
Participate continuously in professional learning, reflection, and growth initiatives, which may include engaging in IB professional development opportunities as appropriate.
The ideal candidate must meet several key qualifications, including a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, and proficiency in industry-standard software tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Additionally, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse stakeholders. A commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in a fast-paced environment is also expected.
Qualifications and Experience:
We seek candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Candidates must possess at least 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong background in full-stack development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is essential, along with experience in database management systems like SQL or NoSQL. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are required. Prior experience in Agile or Scrum methodologies is preferred.
A recognized university must confer a Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Physics Education.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
Requires five years of secondary physics instruction experience, ideally in an international curriculum environment.
Strong preference is given to candidates with prior experience teaching IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and/or Diploma Program (DP) Physics.
Possesses proven expertise in instructing within diverse, multicultural, and international educational settings, coupled with a deep grasp of student-centered and inquiry-driven teaching methodologies and evaluation approaches that meet global benchmarks.
TSC registration must be obtained as a mandatory prerequisite for this position.
