Offer comprehensive logistical assistance to facilitate field operations, encompassing sample collection and data processing tasks.

Assist in the management of laboratory functions and facilitate the development of primary cell line cultures.

Maintain and oversee stem cell cultures and biobanked cell lines to uphold quality standards and ensure viability.

Conduct or ganoid differentiation processes in strict accordance with predefined protocols and established methodologies.

Perform biobanking operations, such as cryopreservation and sample storage.

Perform molecular biology assays and contribute to cellular characterization procedures.

Maintain precise documentation of data and assist in the management of data systems and Digital Sequence Information (DSI) processes.

Ensure adherence to all project documentation mandates, laboratory biosafety regulations, and quality assurance procedures.

Support capacity development efforts and foster productive partnerships with World Fish and National Agricultural Research Systems (CARS) project collaborators.

Engage stakeholders through structured training programs and proactive outreach efforts to foster collaboration and alignment.

Develop and advocate for the consistent adoption of biosafety and ethical research guidelines to ensure compliance and best practices.

Assist in the preparation and compilation of manuscripts and research publications. Collaborate on drafting, editing, and finalizing written content for academic and professional submissions. Ensure adherence to journal guidelines, institutional standards, and ethical publishing practices throughout the process.

Execute any additional duties deemed necessary to support operational objectives.

Requirements

A degree or diploma in a relevant field such as molecular biology, biotechnology, animal science, cell biology, genetics, biomedical sciences, veterinary sciences, aquatic biology, or related disciplines is required.

With a diploma, a minimum of four years of relevant experience is required, while applicants holding a degree need at least two years of pertinent professional background.

Hands-on expertise in molecular biology and biotechnology methodologies within a laboratory setting is essential.

Hands-on experience with aseptic tissue culture methodologies is required.

Proficiency in essential molecular biology techniques is required, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), nucleic acid extraction, and gel electrophoresis.

Proficiency in managing biological samples and operating laboratory equipment is essential.

Proficient in accurately documenting and organizing comprehensive laboratory records with meticulous attention to detail. Capable of ensuring all experimental data, observations, and procedural steps are meticulously recorded and maintained in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.

Proficient knowledge of biosafety protocols and laboratory quality management systems is essential, along with familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Proficiency in stem cell culture methodologies or or ganoid system development is required.

Proficiency in cryopreservation techniques and biobanking operations is required.

Proficiency in livestock or aquatic genetic resources is required.

Proficiency in genomics or sequencing methodologies is required.

Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIES) is required.

Proficiency in ABS, DSI, or biodiversity governance frameworks is essential.
