Public Health Dentistry Community Liaison Officer

Full Time Kajiado

Deadline: 4 September 2026

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Kenya often underprioritizes oral health within its broader healthcare framework, making this position critically important.

In the communities we serve, many individuals have never undergone a comprehensive dental examination, not due to a lack of concern, but rather because access to high-quality dental care has historically been unattainable.

We operate seven state-of-the-art dental units integrated within our medical centers throughout Nairobi, with plans for further expansion. We are seeking Community Oral Health Officers (Cohos) who are not merely interested in securing employment but are eager to contribute to a transformative initiative that significantly enhances access to oral healthcare.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

We are actively seeking to fill four full-time COHO roles across the following locations.

Tangela, located in Kannada County, Kenya, serves as the gateway to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, renowned for its annual wildebeest migration. This dynamic location features a mix of urban development and rural landscapes, characterized by arid and semi-arid terrain. As a rapidly growing town, Tangela provides essential infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and commercial centers, catering to both residents and visitors. The area is also recognized for its vibrant agricultural activities, particularly dairy farming, and proximity to major transportation routes, enhancing economic opportunities. Additionally, Kitengela hosts diverse cultural experiences, reflecting the traditions of the Maasai community while embracing modern influences.

Kahawa West

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team in Kariobangi South. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proven track record in the relevant field. Responsibilities include conducting thorough research, analyzing data, and preparing detailed reports to support decision-making processes. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools, while maintaining strict adherence to deadlines and project timelines. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, along with a degree in a related discipline. Fluency in both English and Swahili is highly advantageous, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment is essential.

Umoja seeks a highly motivated professional to join our team in a dynamic role that demands exceptional organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, along with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, coordinating cross-functional projects, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exceptional problem-solving capabilities are essential, while familiarity with project management tools is a strong advantage. Strong interpersonal skills are required to cultivate collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Our clinics are also situated at Kimchi Street in the Central Business District, Cantata, and Utawala Benedicta.

WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE

Assess patients’ oral health, identify prevalent dental conditions, and provide both preventive and restorative treatments.

Educate patients effectively on oral hygiene practices, ensuring retention and application of the information rather than merely providing a pamphlet.

Collaborate with the dentist and the interdisciplinary care team to integrate oral health considerations into the comprehensive patient care plan.

Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records while ensuring adherence to the clinical standards valued by our patients.

Ensure effective management of supplies and equipment to maintain well-stocked clinics, enabling you to concentrate fully on delivering care.

Engage in community outreach programs aimed at providing dental care access to individuals who have previously lacked such opportunities.

Maintain awareness of the latest developments in dental practice and actively participate in ongoing efforts to enhance quality standards.

YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF…

You possess a Diploma in Community Oral Health or a Bachelor of Science degree in Oral Health, both obtained from an accredited institution.

You must possess a current and valid practicing license issued by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

With a minimum of two years of post-internship clinical dental experience, you bring a solid foundation of practical expertise to the role.

You possess strong interpersonal skills, effectively engaging with patients and colleagues while fostering a sense of comfort and trust.

You excel in high-pressure environments and demonstrate strong time management skills autonomously, requiring minimal oversight.

You demonstrate an unwavering dedication to ongoing education and prioritize patient safety as a fundamental responsibility.

You excel in collaborative settings and demonstrate a proactive approach by actively engaging beyond your designated role.
