JOB PURPOSE

The Research Officer will oversee the recruitment and enrollment of participants for the study within designated healthcare facilities in Nairobi County, reporting directly to the Study Coordinator.

Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing key operational functions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Facilitate the implementation of strategic initiatives while maintaining rigorous adherence to established protocols. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, fostering collaboration to streamline processes and enhance productivity. Monitor performance metrics to identify trends, address inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions as needed. Prepare detailed reports summarizing outcomes, progress, and recommendations for senior leadership review. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and achieve departmental targets. Maintain up-to-date documentation of all activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Conducting thorough screening, recruitment, and enrollment of qualified participants in strict adherence to established study protocols and guidelines.

Gather information in strict accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures.

Data was entered into the Redcap system on Android tablets.

Ensure the integrity, completeness, and security of collected data while adhering to study-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining compliance with Good Clinical Practices.

Comply with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) practices and maintain strict confidentiality standards.

Compile daily summaries of screened and enrolled study participants for the clinic.

The responsible party must guarantee that study participants are administered the correct interventions and undergo the prescribed procedures.

Ensure strict adherence of study participants to all established study procedures throughout the duration of the trial.

Demonstrate a thorough grasp of the study Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with established guidelines and protocols throughout all research activities.

Ensure strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout all phases of the study execution.

Conduct comprehensive training sessions for the facility staff on the PM+ system to ensure full operational understanding and adherence to protocols.

Prepare and submit biweekly reports detailing recruitment and enrollment progress in the study to the study Coordinator.

Each month, meticulously record updates to study strategies by completing the appropriate data capture forms.

Essential requirements:

A recognized institution must have awarded a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.

Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, as these are the primary languages spoken among our research participants.

Requires a minimum of two years of hands-on research experience.

Possesses advanced proficiency in utilizing REDCAP for effective data collection.

A strong familiarity with the study area, specifically Nairobi County, is essential for this role.

Proficiency in computer applications and systems is essential, with a keen emphasis on strong technical competencies to navigate and utilize digital tools effectively.

Certified in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection, the candidate must hold a valid credential valid for at least the next 48 months from the date of this advertisement.

Must possess strong communication abilities, ensuring consistent interaction with the study coordinator through email and Zoom communications.
