Role Description
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Restaurant Waitress to join our team in Mombasa County, Kenya.
The Restaurant Waitress will greet patrons warmly, deliver menus, process food and beverage orders, and ensure attentive service is maintained throughout each guest’s dining experience.
The position encompasses delivering dishes and beverages, describing menu offerings and daily specials, addressing guest inquiries or issues, and maintaining clean, orderly tables and service areas. Additionally, it requires collaboration with kitchen and bar staff, precise payment processing, and fostering a welcoming, informal ambiance that aligns with the restaurant’s coastal location.
Seeking a highly organized individual with prior experience in administrative support or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or a comparable discipline is preferred. Additional assets include prior experience with project coordination, calendar management, and meeting arrangements. Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential. Familiarity with CRM systems and basic accounting principles is a plus.
Demonstrates exceptional customer service abilities, consistently delivering a warm and polished interaction with guests.
Proven experience or strong familiarity with food and beverage operations, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Possesses strong verbal communication abilities to effectively describe menu offerings, accurately record customer orders, and facilitate seamless coordination with kitchen personnel.
A familiarity with culinary principles or food preparation techniques enhances one’s ability to effectively describe menu items and daily specials.
Capable of standing for prolonged durations, safely transporting trays, and adapting to variable schedules that may include weekends and holidays.
A background in coastal or high-volume dining establishments is advantageous.
Proficiency in English is mandatory, while familiarity with Swahili or additional languages is advantageous.
Consistently dependable, punctual, and adept at thriving in a dynamic yet informal setting.
