Our Promise:
We facilitate the transportation of critical cargo across Africa—goods that save lives, sustain communities, feed nations, construct essential infrastructure, and drive economic advancement. Our organization seeks a Sales & Technical Proposal Representative to transform Africa’s most challenging logistics routes into avenues for growth and efficiency.
The Opportunity
A junior-level sales professional with 1 to 2 years of experience and strong technology skills is sought to fill the Technical Proposal Writer role. The preferred candidate will have a proven track record in crafting precise, high-impact proposals tailored to the Oil & Gas industry, UN agencies, NGOs, and international development organizations.
You will oversee the entire proposal development process, beginning with RFP analysis and culminating in submission, all while embodying our C.A.R.E. Culture.
We seek candidates who embody our C.A.R.E. profile, demonstrating a commitment to collaboration, accountability, responsibility, and excellence in every aspect of their role. You will be expected to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, maintaining clear communication and fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives. Accountability for your work, adherence to deadlines, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential traits. Responsibility for your actions, ethical decision-making, and a dedication to continuous improvement are equally critical. Lastly, a relentless pursuit of excellence will ensure you consistently deliver high-quality results and contribute to the organization’s success.
As a client-focused professional, you must respond to inquiries within a 15-minute window—or sooner if the situation demands—and consistently prioritize client requirements above all other tasks. Additionally, you are expected to communicate with a sense of urgency, ensuring timely and effective interactions at all times.
You demonstrate a proactive approach by focusing on solutions rather than excuses, accepting accountability for errors, maintaining a positive outlook in challenging situations, and consistently taking initiative.
You are tasked with proactively identifying and resolving issues to prevent escalation to clients while addressing underlying causes rather than merely treating visible symptoms.
You prioritize empathy, attentively listening before responding, and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the distinct challenges faced by clients in Africa. Additionally, you approach your work with unwavering ethical standards and a grounded, practical awareness of real-world dynamics.
You will be accountable for a diverse range of critical tasks, including managing client relationships, overseeing project execution, and ensuring adherence to established timelines and quality standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, analyze complex data to inform strategic decisions, and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders at all levels. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
We are responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of proposal development, encompassing research, drafting, editing, and submission, with a focus on the Oil & Gas sector, UN agencies such as WFP, UNICEF, and UNDP, and international donors including USAID, the EU, and FCDO.
Conduct a thorough review of RFPs, RFQs, Its, and call for proposals to confirm they align with Shine Maritime’s logistics and supply chain capabilities.
Ensure adherence to oil and gas and donor-specific guidelines, as well as humanitarian standards such as the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and the Sphere Project, while aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Collaborate with partners, consultants, and sub-grantees to prepare and align consortium bids seamlessly.
Maintain a centralized proposal customer relationship management (CRM) database, encompassing records of past submissions, standardized boilerplate content, and donor intelligence.
Facilitate professional development initiatives aimed at strengthening internal teams’ competencies in proposal writing best practices.
