The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills while functioning effectively as a collaborative team member, responsible for managing the full order lifecycle. Duties include evaluating proposals, negotiating cost-effective pricing, identifying optimal suppliers, monitoring market trends, tracking order progress, confirming timely deliveries, authorizing payments, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the acquisition and logistical management of all approved engineering and maintenance parts and equipment as required.

Collaborate with engineering stores to ensure prompt and high-quality procurement of spare parts and consumables, thereby maintaining optimal reorder levels and lead times for the diverse inventory items. This involves evaluating part consumption rates, delivery conditions, and clearance durations to optimize the procurement process.

Coordinate the procurement and shipment of spare equipment parts for domestic and international orders, while providing timely updates and recommendations to the plant engineer.

Act as the primary point of contact with engineering suppliers to address and resolve inquiries or issues concerning deliveries, payments, shipping/procurement processes, and compliance standards, providing guidance to the plant engineer when needed.

Ensure all local and international orders are delivered safely and appropriately, with diligent follow-up conducted as necessary.

Acquire approved purchase requisitions from the chief storekeeper, validated by the plant engineer, and solicit quotations or pro forma invoices accordingly.

Prepare petty cash advance vouchers with the approval of the plant engineer to facilitate cash purchases of urgently required items, followed by reconciliation and tallying as needed.

Follow up with suppliers and contractors to reconcile checks and advance payments post-delivery or project completion, adhering to their specified terms, while fostering strong working relationships.

Ensure the engineering department’s procurement activities align with allocated budgets and cost estimates, maintaining fiscal responsibility in collaboration with your supervisor.

Ensure prompt availability of necessary parts and equipment, taking immediate action whenever required to minimize downtime effectively.

Demonstrate your active participation and dedication to fulfilling the company’s objectives and the engineering department’s goals.

Join us in driving the engineering department’s strategic vision, which focuses on achieving the highest levels of plant and equipment availability, reliability, and efficiency, while also ensuring the optimal performance of buildings and services/utilities.

Develop and submit annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly procurement plans to the plant engineer for review and approval.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Candidates must exhibit at least three years of hands-on experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS or Azure, is essential, as is experience with database management systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are also required. Additional consideration will be given to applicants with certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or CAP.

A bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.

A qualification in Purchasing & Supplies Management or a professional CAPS certification will be highly beneficial.

Established expertise in procuring technical components within a manufacturing environment is required.

Experienced professionals should possess strong negotiation capabilities, a solid commercial acumen, and unwavering integrity.

A minimum of five years of pertinent professional experience is required.
