To maintain the continuous functionality of diesel generator sets (genets), ensuring their reliable operation, upkeep, and repair to provide an uninterrupted power supply for operational facilities, equipment, and critical systems.

Conduct routine inspections and perform essential maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning and longevity of equipment. Implement a systematic approach to identify potential issues before they escalate, thereby minimizing downtime and repair costs. Conduct regular assessments of machinery and systems to verify compliance with safety and performance standards. Develop and maintain detailed maintenance logs to track activities and outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and address any operational concerns. Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance maintenance strategies. Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and company policies throughout maintenance procedures.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on generator sets in accordance with manufacturer specifications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Conduct thorough inspections of critical components such as oil levels, filters, fuel systems, and electrical connections.

Ensure the meticulous documentation of maintenance logs and service records with precision and accuracy.

Performs corrective maintenance to restore equipment and systems to optimal operational condition following malfunctions or failures, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety protocols. Diagnoses issues through systematic inspection, testing, and analysis, utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic equipment as needed. Executes repairs, replacements, or adjustments to faulty components, documenting all actions taken in maintenance logs for future reference. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement preventive measures, reducing recurrence of similar issues. Maintains compliance with industry regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and organizational standards throughout all maintenance activities.

Ensure strict compliance with established safety protocols and all relevant environmental regulations at all times.

Responsibilities include overseeing the correct management and disposal of fuels and lubricants to maintain compliance and environmental standards.

Ensure adherence to established Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and standards of the organization.

Responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring tools and equipment are properly tracked, accounted for, and readily available when needed. Coordinates with procurement teams to replenish supplies as necessary, while implementing efficient storage and organization systems to optimize accessibility and minimize waste. Conducts regular audits and inspections to verify inventory accuracy, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly to prevent operational disruptions. Additionally, manages tool checkouts, returns, and maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment remains in optimal working condition and complies with safety and regulatory standards.

Monitor inventory levels of spare parts to ensure adequate supply, and submit requisitions for replenishment as needed.

Ensure that all workshop tools and equipment are utilized correctly and maintained in optimal working condition.

Profile

Earned a Diploma or Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in generator maintenance and repair is required.

Proficiency in diesel engine systems and electrical components is necessary for this role. Candidates should possess hands-on experience with diesel-powered machinery as well as a solid understanding of related electrical systems. Familiarity with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures for both diesel engines and their associated electrical circuits is highly valued.

Proficiency in various generator brands, such as Perkins, Cummins, and CAT, is considered advantageous.
