Key duties associated with the position encompass a comprehensive range of tasks, including but not limited to the following:
Deliver outstanding, real-world, inquiry-based Computer Studies and Physical Education lessons in full alignment with Kenya’s curriculum standards.
Foster professional, constructive, and positive relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
Develop lesson plans and collaborate with the Learning Design Team to review and update materials as needed or requested.
Foster a dynamic and supportive learning environment that aligns with students’ developmental stages and individual interests while ensuring structure and focus throughout lessons.
Infuse lessons with enthusiasm and a genuine love for learning to inspire students and cultivate their enthusiasm for academic excellence.
Facilitate the provision of essential accommodations and adjustments to support the academic and cultural development and success of every student.
Ensure students achieve proficiency in academic content and meet established educational standards.
Incorporate dynamic technological tools into educational activities to elevate teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
Establish clear, high-expectations objectives for every student while delivering meaningful feedback that fosters their intrinsic motivation and understanding of progress.
Consistently enforce fair rewards and consequences for student conduct while setting a positive example through your own behavior, ensuring students have clear behavioral standards to follow.
Achieving the demanding objectives set by a high-growth organization consistently remains a priority, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to success.
Act in the capacity of a Teacher on Duty and/or Boarding Teacher on Duty while providing assistance to school-wide initiatives focused on behavior intervention programs.
The position involves promptly documenting students’ academic data and clearly communicating their progress to National Partnership families and other stakeholders as required.
Assist school clubs, societies, and enriching co-curricular programs designed to cultivate well-rounded students across all disciplines.
Fulfill responsibilities as a homeroom teacher when assigned to the role.
ABOUT YOU
Skills and Qualifications Required:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required, along with at least three years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably in a DevOps or cloud infrastructure environment. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go is essential, along with expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Strong problem-solving abilities, collaborative teamwork, and excellent communication skills are critical. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and security best practices is highly desirable. The ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities effectively is necessary.
A relevant Degree in Education with a specialization in Computer Studies or Physical Education, coupled with TSC certification, is required.
Requires a minimum of three years of hands-on teaching experience.
