JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for ensuring the secure, precise, and efficient preparation, dispensing, and inventory control of medications across all pharmacy units at Premier Hospital, including the First Floor Pharmacy, Chemotherapy Section, Main Pharmacy, and Main Store. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, strict adherence to safety protocols, collaborative teamwork, and full compliance with regulatory standards to uphold patient care excellence and medication safety.
The primary responsibilities and key duties include overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and managing cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Dispenses medications and provides comprehensive support to patients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of prescribed treatments while addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding their medications or overall health.
Accurately prepare and dispense medications in strict accordance with prescribed orders.
Deliver comprehensive patient counseling regarding appropriate dosage, potential side effects, and correct medication administration.
Provide support to clinical teams by addressing drug-related inquiries and facilitating prescription evaluations.
Oversee medication management for both outpatient and inpatient services provided by the First Floor Pharmacy.
The chemotherapy section is responsible for administering and managing chemotherapy treatments to patients. This role requires a thorough understanding of chemotherapy protocols, dosage calculations, and safety procedures to ensure patient well-being. Responsibilities include preparing and administering chemotherapy drugs, monitoring patients for adverse reactions, and providing education to patients and their families about treatment processes and side effects. Collaboration with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals is essential to deliver comprehensive care. Additionally, maintaining accurate records of treatments and adhering to regulatory standards is critical to this position.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in inventory management software, and the ability to analyze data to forecast demand and optimize stock rotation. Strong organizational skills and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure are essential, as the position involves coordinating with procurement teams, warehouse staff, and vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Oversee the inventory of pharmaceutical products within dispensing pharmacies to ensure optimal stock levels and availability.
Oversee the timely rotation of stock to uphold freshness and quality standards while preventing product expirations. Maintain meticulous and precise inventory records to ensure accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
Oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations to ensure efficient and compliant functioning of the facility. Manage daily workflows, inventory control, and staff coordination to meet patient care and regulatory standards. Implement and maintain protocols for medication dispensing, record-keeping, and quality assurance. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and resolve any operational challenges. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations, including licensing and accreditation requirements.
Compile and review medication orders for inpatients across general wards and specialized clinical units.
Maintain secure storage and proper handling procedures for controlled substances to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.
Contribute to ward rounds as necessary to address medication-related interventions.
Ensure precise management of prescription records, inventory tracking, and patient transaction documentation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Earned a Diploma in Pharmacy to establish foundational expertise in pharmaceutical sciences and practices.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a high-volume hospital environment.
Demonstrated expertise in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential.
