Our client, a prominent telecommunications provider, is seeking to appoint a Team Lead for its Activation department.
Reports directly to the Area Sales Manager, providing regular updates and aligning activities with established sales strategies and objectives. Collaborates closely with the leadership team to ensure consistent performance and adherence to company standards. Assists in implementing sales plans, monitoring progress, and identifying opportunities for growth within the assigned region. Maintains accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making. Participates in team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews to enhance skills and contribute to overall sales effectiveness.
Job purpose
To prioritize in-person visits to retail locations, enhancing visibility and brand awareness, and ensuring SIM and Float turnaround efficiency, while maintaining optimal merchandising and visibility standards at point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and developing strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Key tasks involve managing a cross-functional team, analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Additionally, the role requires coordinating with stakeholders to align business objectives with project deliverables, while maintaining accountability for budget adherence and resource allocation. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement are essential to this position.
Effectively oversee the identification and recruitment of Agents, with a strategic focus on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
Regularly conduct visits to SOS and Agents as per agreed route plans (beat plans) to maintain established call rates.
Provide and distribute all necessary business tools for transactions at SSO and agent outlets, while conducting thorough training sessions for SOS and Trash Agents on the relevant processes.
Train personnel on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols and instruct Single Sign-On (SSO) users on Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures specifically tailored to SIM REG compliance.
Monitor and maintain the float and stock coverage, ensuring sufficient availability of SIMs for activation and new registrations. Oversee and rigorously apply the 1.5x stock rule for agents, while verifying that Sales Support Officers (SOS) have adequate inventory levels.
Merchandising involves establishing and upholding merchandising standards by ensuring that merchandising materials are consistently available at SSO and Agent outlets.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required for this position. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum of three years of related professional experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in [relevant software/tools] and excellent communication skills are also necessary. Prior experience in [specific industry or role] is highly advantageous.
