Oversee the teams responsible for Sea Export operations departing from Kenya.

Ensure the team remains apprised of all changes and developments while facilitating the required internal adjustments and objectives.

Assess the performance of team members to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and individual development goals.

Enhance employee competencies by providing targeted training and development initiatives to foster professional growth and skill enhancement.

Establish and maintain robust protocols to facilitate the seamless transition of cases during organizational restructuring within the team.

Develop the Middle Office’s organizational structure, cultivate its expertise, establish the necessary resources, and implement standardized processes to ensure operational excellence.

To align the organization, expertise, and resources with the objectives established by the Manager.

Regularly evaluate and update the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to maintain alignment with customer service objectives.

Oversee the execution of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) by the Management Office (MO) team, conduct internal and external quality audits, and ensure ongoing compliance by regularly comparing performance against the approved action plan.

Coordinate and monitor operations.

Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality service to clients.

Oversee and mitigate risks to ensure organizational stability and compliance with regulatory standards.

Establish and maintain a robust risk control framework to ensure comprehensive oversight and governance.

To mitigate any potential for additional or extra charges, undertake all necessary measures and actions.

We are responsible for meeting both the agreed contractual KPIs with clients and our internal KPIs, ensuring adherence to performance standards and targets.

Implement comprehensive measures to minimize disbursement exposure, including ensuring compliance classification protocols are followed, accurately posting billing and expense transactions to relevant files, and proactively managing associated risks—with particular emphasis on debit-related exposures.

Collaborate with both the Front Office and Back Office teams—including Legal and Insurance—to manage the customer disputes process, identifying and executing measures that prevent the recurrence of underlying issues.

Ensure that all necessary insurance coverage for our services—whether provided through our internal resources or via third-party arrangements—is effectively maintained in collaboration with the Back-Office support team specializing in Insurance.

Management must be kept informed of all activities and decisions. Regular reports and updates are required to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals. Any significant developments, challenges, or deviations from plans must be promptly communicated to facilitate timely decision-making and corrective actions.

Identify key customers based on factors such as cargo type, shipment volumes, financial stability, and account significance, then establish tailored operational monitoring processes as needed.

Gather and analyze data on operational risks—including customs-related concerns—and compile a comprehensive monthly report for the Manager.

Compile and present a monthly performance report for the Manager, analyzing the department’s operational results and forecasting upcoming trends while considering relevant market dynamics, including customer behavior and competitive activities.

Profile

We seek a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field to drive operational excellence and strategic decision-making. Proficiency in financial analysis, market research, and data-driven problem-solving is essential, along with strong leadership and communication skills. The role involves overseeing project execution, optimizing business processes, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior management to develop and implement growth strategies is a key responsibility. Prior experience in a business-related role and familiarity with ERP systems are preferred but not mandatory.

A relevant diploma in Clearing & Freight Forwarding or a closely associated discipline is required for this position.

With over five years of experience in a high-volume customs and freight forwarding organization, specializing in maritime export operations, you will have held a managerial position, overseeing critical logistics processes and ensuring seamless cross-border transactions.
