Mission Description
Oversee the teams responsible for Sea Export operations originating from Kenya.
Ensure the team remains updated on all changes and developments while facilitating the required internal alignments and objectives.
Assess the performance of subordinates through structured evaluations and feedback sessions to ensure alignment with organizational goals and individual development objectives.
Enhance the professional competencies of team members through targeted training and development initiatives.
Develop and establish standardized procedures to facilitate seamless case transfers during organizational changes within the team.
Develop and strengthen the Middle Office function by establishing organizational structure, cultivating specialized expertise, and implementing standardized procedures to ensure operational excellence and consistency.
Ensure that the organization, expertise, and resources align with the objectives set by the Manager.
Ensure the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is reviewed regularly and remains fully aligned to meet customer service requirements.
Oversee the execution of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) by the Management Office (MO) team, conduct quality audits—both internal and external—and ensure compliance by continuously evaluating progress against the approved action plan.
Coordinate and monitor operations.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality client service by consistently evaluating and overseeing service standards.
Mitigate and oversee potential risks to ensure organizational stability and compliance with established protocols.
Develop and implement a robust risk control framework to ensure comprehensive oversight and management of potential risks within the organization.
Ensure all measures are taken to minimize any additional or extra cost exposure.
Monitor contractual KPIs agreed upon with clients as well as internal performance metrics to ensure full compliance and achievement of established targets.
To ensure minimal disbursement exposure, perform all necessary actions, including compliance classification procedures, accurate billing, and proper expense posting to client files, while actively managing risk—with a specific emphasis on debit-related exposures.
Collaborate with the Front Office and Back Office (Legal, Insurance) to manage the customer disputes process and proactively implement measures aimed at eliminating recurring root causes.
Ensure that comprehensive insurance coverage is maintained for our services, whether through our internal resources or external providers, with the support of the Back-Office Insurance team.
Management should be informed of all relevant updates, developments, and issues as they arise to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
Identify key customers based on cargo type, shipment volumes, financial stability, and account significance, then establish tailored operational monitoring protocols as needed.
Gather and compile data on operational risks—including customs-related issues—and prepare a monthly report for the Manager.
A monthly report must be prepared and submitted to the Manager, summarizing the department’s performance and providing future projections, while incorporating relevant market dynamics, including customer and competitive factors.
Profile
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related field to join our dynamic team. This role requires a solid foundation in core business principles, including finance, marketing, operations, and strategic management. Responsibilities include analyzing market trends, developing business strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive organizational growth. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Prior internship or work experience in a business-related capacity is highly desirable.
A relevant qualification in Clearing & Freight Forwarding or a closely associated discipline is required.
With five years of managerial experience in a fast-paced C & F company specializing in Sea Exports, responsibilities included overseeing and coordinating export operations efficiently.
