Job Purpose

To uphold hospital policies and regulatory standards, this role focuses on the precise and secure dispensing of medications, delivering pharmaceutical care, and fostering the safe utilization of prescribed treatments.

Oversee and execute a diverse range of critical tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational excellence. Lead strategic initiatives, streamline workflows, and foster collaboration across departments to drive efficiency and innovation. Provide leadership in project management, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budgets, and consistent delivery of high-quality results. Act as a key decision-maker, resolving challenges proactively while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder satisfaction. Develop and mentor team members, cultivating a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, professional growth, and shared success.

Accurately review prescriptions to ensure correctness and dispense medications as prescribed.

Deliver comprehensive patient education regarding optimal medication utilization to ensure adherence and safety.

Responsibilities include maintaining secure storage, proper handling, and effective management of all pharmaceuticals to guarantee compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Ensure accurate inventory management by overseeing stock levels and monitoring expiration dates diligently.

Verify adherence to pharmacy regulations and hospital policies to maintain operational integrity and regulatory compliance.

Provide doctors and nurses with expert guidance on pharmaceuticals and therapeutic recommendations.

Ensure precise documentation of all dispensing activities and pharmacy records.

Document and report any medication discrepancies or adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Efficiently dispenses medications with precision and adherence to scheduled timelines.

Ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory guidelines and hospital-specific standards is a core responsibility of this role.

Accomplishes precise stock and inventory management through meticulous tracking and systematic organization.

Ensuring patient safety and satisfaction remains paramount in this role, as it directly influences the quality of care delivered and the overall experience of healthcare recipients.

Accurate documentation and timely reporting are essential duties for this role, ensuring all processes and outcomes are meticulously recorded and promptly communicated as required.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is required. Proficiency in specific software, tools, or programming languages pertinent to the role is essential. Relevant work experience, often ranging from three to five years in a similar capacity, is typically sought after. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary to thrive in this position. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, or best practices may also be required, depending on the role.

A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B. Harm) is required.

Licensed and registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, maintaining a valid practicing certificate.

We prefer candidates with three or more years of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.

Proficient in identifying and resolving complex technical issues, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with organizational objectives. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear articulation of ideas and active listening to diverse stakeholder perspectives. Adept at managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results. Familiarity with industry-specific tools, methodologies, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Experience in mentoring junior team members, fostering a culture of growth, and promoting knowledge-sharing initiatives. Strong leadership qualities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate teams toward achieving shared goals and exceeding performance expectations.
