Job Purpose:
The Lead Systems Integrator & Developer oversees the complete implementation and dependability of the organization’s primary data integrations. This position involves designing and managing the data infrastructure for a rapidly expanding, multi-campus international school network, serving as the chief architect for the integration backbone that establishes and sustains automated data exchanges across HR, MIS, Library, and Google Workspace platforms. The role encompasses full ownership of the delivery process—spanning requirements gathering with non-technical stakeholders, architectural design, development, deployment, and continuous monitoring—as well as maintaining thorough documentation throughout.
Applicants must possess a relevant academic qualification, such as a bachelor’s degree in a discipline pertinent to the role, coupled with prior professional experience in a comparable environment. Candidates should demonstrate a strong foundation in theoretical knowledge alongside practical application, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the demands of the position. Familiarity with industry standards, emerging trends, and best practices will be considered advantageous, as will any specialized certifications or advanced training that align with the role’s requirements.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable quantitative discipline is required.
Minimum of three years of hands-on experience as a Junior or Mid-level Developer.
Accomplished in designing, implementing, and sustaining production-grade Python scripts dedicated to automating data synchronization across enterprise platforms.
Experience in designing and overseeing Zero-Touch onboarding and offboarding workflows between systems.
Managed IT Services (MIS) and Directory Services, specifically utilizing Google Workspace or an equivalent platform, are required for this role.
Experienced in developing and implementing API-driven integration bridges to automate manual business processes.
Proven capability to lead project execution from start to finish—gathering requirements from non-technical stakeholders, overseeing deployment, implementing monitoring protocols, and ensuring a smooth documentation handoff.
Skilled in deploying structured logging systems, alerting mechanisms, and foundational observability tools for automated scheduled jobs within production infrastructure.
Added Advantage
Postgraduate certifications in Data Engineering or Cloud Architecture, such as the Google Professional Data Engineer or AWS Certified Data Analytics, are required.
Professional certifications in Power BI, Advanced Data Analytics, or Google Workspace, or equivalent credentials, are required. Candidates should possess expertise in data visualization, analytical methodologies, and collaborative tools to enhance productivity and decision-making processes.
Proficiency in Kenya’s Data Protection Act of 2019 is required.
Professional candidates will possess demonstrated experience in the K-12 education sector or familiarity with School Management Information Systems (MIS).
Professional with a track record in managing multi-campus or multi-entity data systems, adept at integrating and harmonizing information across diverse organizational or geographic frameworks.
Proven expertise in transitioning on-premise legacy scripts to modern cloud-based architectures, including serverless and containerized solutions.
Seeking candidates with a proven track record in a Lead or Senior role, overseeing technical documentation, establishing code standards, and facilitating knowledge transfer within a small team.
Proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) like Doha, with expertise in REST API integration for patron and catalog management, is essential.
