Job Summary

Our client in the hospitality sector is in search of a diligent and committed Kitchen Steward to bolster back-of-house operations. The successful candidate will uphold stringent cleanliness and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, waste management, and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations in a dynamic, five-star hospitality setting. This position demands a highly organized, physically capable individual with a keen eye for detail, who can perform efficiently in a demanding, high-standard hospitality environment.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing the primary functions of the role, ensuring adherence to organizational objectives and standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and performance, while fostering collaboration across teams to achieve shared goals. Provide expert guidance and mentorship to team members, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Monitor progress, analyze outcomes, and report findings to senior leadership, offering data-driven insights to inform decision-making. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical guidelines to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity.

Responsibilities include promptly and efficiently washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and all kitchen equipment.

Ensure that kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation zones remain consistently clean and sanitized.

Proper management, storage, and organization of kitchen equipment and supplies must be maintained at all times.

Provide assistance to chefs and kitchen personnel as needed, ensuring efficient completion of preparatory and operational tasks in the kitchen environment.

Waste materials must be disposed of in accordance with established hygiene and safety protocols to ensure compliance and mitigate potential hazards.

Ensure that garbage collection areas are consistently clean and properly maintained at all times.

Ensure cleaning supplies are consistently replenished and promptly inform supervisors when inventory levels are running low.

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment, ensuring thorough sanitation and adherence to established protocols.

Adhere strictly to all food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations and protocols at all times.

Provide support in ensuring cleanliness standards are upheld during conferences, banquets, and other large-scale events.

Maintain impeccable cleanliness and presentation standards in accordance with five-star hospitality guidelines.

Promptly address and fulfill cleaning requests submitted by the kitchen and food & beverage teams.

Oversee the implementation of thorough cleaning schedules and perform regular maintenance tasks for the kitchen area.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be considered for this position. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, business administration, or computer science, is required, though a master’s degree is preferred. Applicants should possess at least three years of professional experience in project management, data analysis, or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in industry-standard software tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and advanced analytical platforms, is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a demonstrated capacity for team leadership are also necessary. Prior experience in a fast-paced corporate environment is highly advantageous.

A hospitality diploma or certificate is required for consideration.

A qualification in Food Production, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline would be considered beneficial.

A minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience in a Kitchen Steward role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting is essential.

Preferred candidates will have prior experience in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment.

Proficiency in food safety protocols, cleanliness, and sanitation regulations is essential.

Proficient in the safe handling and application of cleaning chemicals and equipment is essential.

Capable of maintaining physical fitness and endurance to stand for extended periods.

Exceptional abilities in collaborating effectively within a team and conveying information clearly are essential.

Capable of adapting to varied work schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
