Job Summary

Assessing software quality involves designing and implementing comprehensive testing processes to ensure robustness and reliability. Responsibilities include detecting bugs, identifying issues, documenting findings, and overseeing the resolution process to facilitate smooth software and feature releases. Preparing detailed reports on all testing activities and ensuring seamless interoperability with the development team are also key duties. Additionally, executing software usability tests—such as Black Box, White Box, load, and regression testing—is required, with proficiency in automated testing considered a significant advantage.

Job Details

Review and evaluate requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, delivering prompt and constructive feedback.

Create meticulously crafted, thorough, and logically organized test plans and test cases to ensure robust validation of system functionality and reliability.

Direct the sequencing and scheduling of testing processes to ensure efficient resource utilization and timely project milestones.

Serve as a test engineer by creating, building, and implementing automated test solutions to ensure software quality and reliability.

Investigate discrepancies or concerns, document findings, and confirm resolution of reported issues.

Conduct regression testing to ensure software modifications do not adversely impact existing functionality.

We provide assistance in identifying and resolving issues at the initial level of support.

Convene instructional sessions to educate users on system functionalities and operational procedures, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills for proficient utilization.

Conducting a thorough review of feedback collected from field teams and pilot programs serves as a key responsibility in this role.

Requirements

Proficient in both the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the software testing lifecycle (STLC).

A fundamental understanding of software Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies, tools, and processes is required.

Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to achieving the highest standards of quality.

Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative success by actively supporting teammates, exchanging insights with them, and embracing opportunities to grow from their expertise.

Capable of collaborating effectively within a remote or geographically dispersed team environment.

Proficiency in foundational AWS technologies and Information Security principles is required.

Possesses strong analytical skills to assess requirements and resolve issues effectively. Demonstrates the ability to interpret and evaluate information critically to ensure accurate and efficient problem-solving.

Proficient in both English and Kiswahili with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

Minimum of three years of experience in software support is required.

Possesses a minimum of two years of practical, hands-on experience.

A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable field—or an equivalent diploma—is required.

A professional qualification in testing would be advantageous.

A foundational knowledge of AWS Services is required, encompassing core offerings such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS, along with an understanding of cloud computing principles.
