In 2012, as part of a global restructuring effort, the organization consolidated programs from Save the Children UK, Canada, and Finland into a unified Kenya operation. A subsequent transition in February 2014 integrated the health and nutrition programs of the British NGO Merlin with its own, further strengthening its impact. Today, Save the Children operates in Burma, Dadaab Refugee Camp, Larissa, Mandela, Turkey, and Major, while also collaborating with partners across additional regions. Additionally, the Kenya Country Office oversees operations for a newly established project office in Madagascar, established in 2016. Collectively, the organization employs approximately 250 staff across both countries and reported an operating annual budget of roughly US$17.5 million in 2021.
