The Client is in search of a meticulous and proactive Junior Accounts Assistant to join the Finance and Operations Department.

The ideal candidate will oversee the maintenance of precise financial records, facilitate inventory accounting procedures, aid in payroll management, conduct reconciliations, and uphold seamless daily accounting operations.

Oversee critical operational duties, including managing daily workflows, ensuring adherence to established protocols, and maintaining high standards of efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance productivity. Monitor performance metrics to assess effectiveness, address deviations promptly, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership. Serve as a liaison between departments to facilitate seamless communication and alignment on project goals. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous development.

Maintain precise and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions on a daily basis.

Responsible for accurately processing and documenting all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure financial records are maintained with precision and compliance.

Compile and input journal entries into the designated accounting platform.

Oversee the ongoing maintenance and updates of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with established accounting standards and company guidelines.

Assist in compiling management accounts and preparing financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate and organized filing and documentation of all financial records to ensure compliance and accessibility.

Prepare statutory returns and tax documentation as needed.

Assist in ensuring adherence to Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and other applicable regulatory mandates.

Ensure meticulous documentation is prepared and maintained to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Conduct comprehensive reconciliations of bank accounts and vendor statements to ensure financial accuracy and alignment with internal records.

Examine financial records to identify and correct any inconsistencies or errors.

Provide support in sustaining internal financial controls and established procedures.

Facilitate the accurate processing of payroll, perform salary calculations, manage deductions, and oversee benefits administration.

Maintain payroll records with meticulous accuracy and strict confidentiality.

Oversee inventory transactions and track stock movements meticulously to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all supply chain operations.

Verify that physical inventory levels align with data recorded in the system.

Conduct inventory audits and analyze variances to ensure accurate stock records and identify discrepancies.

Facilitate the computation of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) through accurate data compilation and analysis.

Collaborate effectively with logistics and operations teams to ensure the precision of inventory records.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, complemented by at least three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, possess the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment, and exhibit adaptability to evolving project demands. Duties include conducting thorough research, analyzing data to derive actionable insights, and delivering clear, concise reports to stakeholders. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential challenges.

A diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related business discipline is required.

Candidates with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation—ideally at the CPA Part II level or higher—are strongly encouraged to apply.

A minimum of one to two years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, inventory management, or finance-related positions is required.

Proficiency in a retail, wholesale, distribution, e-commerce, or inventory-focused operational setting is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including QuickBooks, Odoo, Zoho Books, Sage, or comparable platforms, is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced capabilities in Pivot Tables, Lookups, and data analysis functions.

Proficient in utilizing retail point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.

Proficiency in inventory accounting principles and stock management procedures is essential.
