Job summary/ Job purpose/ Role Intent:
The Sectional IP Network Engineer–Field will ensure MAN network availability and customer uptime KPIs are met by performing on-site maintenance related to power systems for assigned MAN nodes, thereby guaranteeing service quality and continuity in alignment with company standards and within allocated budget constraints. Additionally, the role involves conducting Feasibility and Implementation assessments, as well as managing billing-related disconnections and reconnections of ISDN and PSTN circuits at the MAN level.
Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and maintain high standards of efficiency and productivity. Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement across all functional areas. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure seamless communication, meet expectations, and uphold service-level agreements. Lead cross-functional projects, allocating resources effectively and ensuring timely delivery while adhering to budget constraints. Ensure consistent MAN availability by proactively maintaining the nodes’ power supply.
Timely resolution of MAN and Switch power-related faults, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
Key updates are facilitated throughout the restoration process to provide the customer with comprehensive and timely information.
Conduct feasibility assessments, implement, and execute disconnection and reconnection procedures for ISDN and PSTN circuits.
The role involves preparing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for customer setup processes. Responsibilities include creating detailed guides to facilitate smooth onboarding for new clients and ensuring all necessary steps are clearly outlined and accessible.
Ensure a secure work environment through strict adherence to HSE protocols, established engineering standards, established procedures, and relevant legal regulations.

To ensure optimal performance, 90% of all Nairobi Means must consistently meet Power-related targets.
Ninety percent of Nairobi’s Metropolitan Area Networks (Means) achieve a Power quality rating exceeding ninety percent.
Within two hours following bill payment, 80% of disconnected lines must be restored to service.
Customer service level agreement (SLA) adherence requires 80% of all provisioning and cessation cases to be resolved within a 24-hour timeframe.
To ensure operational efficiency, resolve 80% of faults within a four-hour timeframe.
Perform quarterly routine maintenance on all MAN nodes, assess their power autonomy status, and provide recommendations for each node.
Complete all assigned Feasibility tickets promptly, ensuring they are processed within a 24-hour timeframe.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and prior professional experience are required for consideration. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the specified skills and possess the necessary certifications, if applicable. Additionally, relevant work experience in a comparable role is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are essential to excel in this position.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Telecommunication, complemented by specialized training in technology or engineering, is required.
