Functions / Key Results Expected

The In-Country Coordinator will operate under the guidance of the Deputy Program Director and collaborate closely with the Sherpas from each participating country to deliver specialized technical, coordination, and facilitation assistance aimed at strengthening their engagement in the FCLP. The primary responsibilities will include the following key activities:

Spearhead the creation, ongoing refinement, and oversight of the nation’s yearly Foreign Currency Liquidity Plan (FCLP) work plan.

Facilitate continuous collaboration and communication between national and international stakeholders to ensure alignment and synergy in all initiatives and operations.

Prepare and submit routine progress reports, comprehensive updates, and concise briefing documents on a consistent basis.

Assist in the organization and implementation of significant events and pivotal political engagements.

Duties include compiling and submitting comprehensive annual reports detailing each country’s engagement with the Foreign Currency Loan Program (FCLP), ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery.

The position involves overseeing governance frameworks and fostering national engagement initiatives. Country Packages/National Action Strategy

Craft and implement comprehensive, country-specific strategies that align with the organization’s broader objectives while addressing unique regional challenges. Develop and oversee the execution of tailored national plans, ensuring they integrate with global frameworks and meet established targets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights, refine methodologies, and enhance program effectiveness. Analyze performance data to assess progress, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions to optimize outcomes. Serve as a key liaison between headquarters and local stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication, alignment, and resource allocation. Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic planning, policy development, or a related field, along with proficiency in data analysis and stakeholder engagement. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to adapt strategies to dynamic environments are essential. Fluency in relevant languages and experience working in diverse cultural contexts is preferred.

Facilitate the exchange of insights and active involvement within the Country Packages International Working Group.

IPs and LCs are responsible for ensuring proper land tenure security, managing overlapping claims, and resolving disputes to promote sustainable land use. They conduct thorough field assessments, prepare detailed tenure documentation, and collaborate with local communities to formalize land rights. Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of legal frameworks are required, along with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Additionally, they must oversee compliance with environmental regulations and support capacity-building initiatives for local land governance.

We facilitate the execution of the International Land Tenure Commitment (ITC), where applicable.

Engage proactively with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities to foster meaningful and respectful collaboration.

Enhance the coordination, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms associated with the engagement of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and Local Communities (LCs) in Forest Conservation and Livelihoods Program (FCLP) initiatives.

The role requires expertise in finance and carbon markets, with responsibilities spanning financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic planning within carbon trading frameworks. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of carbon pricing mechanisms, regulatory compliance, and market trends, along with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
