JOB PURPOSE

The Research Officer will oversee the recruitment and enrollment of participants at designated healthcare facilities within Nairobi County for the study. This role requires direct reporting to the Study Coordinator to ensure alignment with project objectives and protocols.

The primary responsibilities of this role include managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and overseeing project execution. Additionally, the position requires coordinating with cross-functional teams to align departmental goals with organizational objectives, as well as analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently are essential for success in this position. Proficiency in relevant software tools and a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role are required qualifications.

Conducting comprehensive screening of prospective participants to determine their eligibility for the study, in strict adherence to established guidelines. Additionally, actively recruiting qualified individuals and facilitating their enrollment in accordance with study protocols.

Gather information in strict accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures.

Data entry responsibilities include accurately inputting collected data into the Redcap system via Android tablets.

Ensure the integrity, completeness, and secure handling of collected data while maintaining strict adherence to study-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best clinical practices for storage.

Ensure adherence to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) practices and maintain strict confidentiality standards.

Compile daily summaries of screened and enrolled study participants for the clinical trial.

The team will administer the designated interventions and procedures to study participants according to the approved protocol, ensuring all treatments are delivered as intended.

Ensure study participants adhere strictly to all established study procedures to maintain data integrity and protocol compliance.

Demonstrate a thorough grasp of study-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with established protocols and maintain consistency in execution.

Maintain strict adherence to all study procedures outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout the duration of the study.

The facility staff will undergo comprehensive training on PM+ to ensure proficiency in its application and utilization. This training will be designed to equip team members with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively implement PM+ within their roles.

Prepare and submit biweekly reports detailing recruitment efforts and participant enrollment for the study to the study Coordinator.

Monthly, you will document changes to study strategies by accurately completing data capture forms.

Prospective candidates must meet the following essential prerequisites: possessing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; demonstrating a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in software development, with a focus on Java or Python; showcasing proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure; and exhibiting strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative teamwork.

A recognized institution must have awarded a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.

Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is required, as these are the predominant languages among our research participants.

A minimum of two years of hands-on research experience is required.

A strong proficiency in using REDCAP for data collection is required.

Should possess in-depth knowledge of the study area, specifically Nairobi County.

Must possess strong proficiency in computer applications and systems.

Candidates must possess a valid Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection certification that remains current for at least 48 months from the date of this advertisement.

Must possess strong communication abilities, including the capacity to engage frequently with the study coordinator through email and Zoom.

Demonstrates strong collaboration skills, effectively interfacing with site study personnel to foster a cohesive and productive team environment.
