RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor financial activities with a focus on fraud detection and transaction monitoring. Evaluate transactions, merchant behavior, and ATM operations to detect irregularities or suspicious patterns. Investigate flagged transactions promptly and take decisive action to mitigate fraud risks or scams.
Overseeing merchant and third-party agent activities involves conducting thorough reviews of transactions, business operations, websites, products, and services to verify adherence to scheme rules and applicable legal standards.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Oversee merchant screening and payment intelligence alerts, assist in fraud investigations, document suspicious activities, and deliver actionable recommendations to minimize fraud, chargebacks, and operational risks while maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data collected within acquisition systems, meticulously maintaining records and reports of suspicious activities alongside investigation results.
Stakeholder Engagements: Partner with cross-functional internal teams and external industry organizations to gather essential data, deliver expert guidance on fraud and chargeback issues, and assist in fulfilling regulatory and industry reporting requirements.
Requirements
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, with a minimum of three years of progressive experience in a similar role. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are critical for collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments and possess a collaborative mindset to thrive in team settings. Familiarity with project management methodologies and adherence to compliance standards are also required.
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Criminology, Business, or an equivalent discipline is required.
A minimum of two to three years of professional experience in fraud monitoring, risk management, or banking operations is required.
Proficient understanding of regulatory frameworks governing payment systems and adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) compliance standards is required.
