MAJOR FUNCTIONS

The Finance Specialist delivers critical operational and analytical assistance to the Secretariat Finance Business Partnering team. This role involves organizing standard financial processes, managing trackers and financial systems, facilitating period-end and high-demand workload periods, and upholding data precision and reliability within financial platforms. Additionally, the position aids the team in grant management functions by ensuring meticulous data handling, proper documentation, and streamlined process support across the stages of grant establishment, monitoring, reporting, and finalization.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing a range of key duties and functions. Your primary responsibilities will include managing and overseeing operational processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to established standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and resolve any operational challenges that may arise. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying process improvements and implementing solutions to enhance overall productivity and performance. Strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success in this position.

The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy, security, and compliance of financial information while managing system operations effectively. Responsibilities include monitoring data integrity, implementing safeguards against discrepancies, and adhering to regulatory standards. Enter, validate, and update financial data within designated finance systems and tracking tools, ensuring accuracy and consistency in alignment with team-provided inputs.

Responsibilities include overseeing the accuracy and reliability of data, as well as the proper functioning of systems, while detecting errors, discrepancies, or gaps in information.

Execute standard modifications, rectifications, and reclassifications in accordance with prescribed protocols and established guidelines.

Assist with reconciliation procedures and address any discrepancies through follow-up actions.

Assist in generating standard financial reports by compiling and organizing data extracts and conducting fundamental analytical assessments.

PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required. Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are a must. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary. At least three years of relevant experience is required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is critical. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards is important.

You must possess a bachelor’s degree—or an equivalent qualification—and have a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Experienced in leveraging data analysis techniques to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights. Proficient in extracting meaningful patterns from extensive datasets and presenting findings in a clear, concise manner.

Expertly crafted summaries deliver compelling, actionable insights with precision and clarity.

Proficiency in financial analysis, preferably with experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), is required.

Demonstrates proficiency in handling financial data, spreadsheets, and information systems with confidence.
