The DREAM Finance and Grants Assistant, Pan-Africa will provide essential support to the projects’ RIO financial operations and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Responsibilities include aiding RIO Administration and Management by processing payments, tracking expenditures, and managing grant documentation. The role further involves maintaining precise financial records, preparing comprehensive grants and finance summaries, monitoring RIO budgets, and verifying adherence to both donor and organizational policies.

Overseeing key operational duties, the role involves executing critical tasks that drive organizational efficiency and success. This includes managing workflows, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to established protocols. Additionally, the position requires analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance productivity. The individual must also maintain clear communication channels, report progress to stakeholders, and support continuous improvement efforts across departments.

RIO Management and Administration encompasses overseeing and optimizing operational processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining efficient administrative systems. This role requires a keen focus on data analysis, strategic planning, and resource allocation to enhance performance and productivity. Responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional teams, implementing best practices, and managing documentation to support organizational objectives. Prepare and process RIO proposals, budgets, and agreements with meticulous attention to detail.

Assist in the coordination and review of RIO financial deliverables to ensure compliance with the standards set by the Mastercard Foundation and WUSS.

Assist in compiling comprehensive internal reports pertaining to Correlated activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables.

Act as the primary liaison for Los, addressing questions and providing clarification on application-related matters throughout the RFPs process.

Grants and Finance Record Management involves the organization, maintenance, and oversight of both physical and digital documentation related to financial transactions, funding allocations, and compliance records. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy, security, and accessibility of critical financial and grant-related information. Responsibilities include accurately filing, retrieving, and archiving records in accordance with established policies and regulatory standards while maintaining efficient retrieval systems for audits and reporting purposes.

Develop and uphold a comprehensive records management system encompassing both physical and digital documents, ensuring uniformity in naming conventions, stringent access controls, and secure data backup procedures to guarantee full transparency and audit preparedness.

This position involves overseeing budgetary allocations, ensuring fiscal compliance, and optimizing resource distribution to meet organizational objectives. The role requires meticulous attention to financial details, adherence to regulatory standards, and collaboration with stakeholders to align funding with strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include monitoring expenditures, analyzing budget variances, and providing actionable insights to enhance financial efficiency. Proficiency in budgeting software, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this role.

Assists with monitoring budget allocations, reconciling financial outflows, and detecting inconsistencies within RIO financial reports.

Provides support in the preparation of project budgets, financial contributions for proposals, and revisions to existing budgets.

Provide administrative and logistical support to ensure seamless coordination of projects, meetings, and communications, facilitating efficient workflows and maintaining organizational alignment.

Serving as the central liaison, this role facilitates seamless coordination between Finance, Grants, and Programs teams, ensuring alignment and strategic planning through organized meetings and collaborative activities.

This position description is designed to outline the primary scope and level of responsibilities associated with this role. Given the evolving nature of the DREAM program, tasks and priorities may be adapted in alignment with program objectives, donor specifications, and team dynamics, provided such adjustments remain congruent with the role’s intended purpose and level.

Seeking a dynamic professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, along with a CPA or CMA designation preferred. Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting is essential, along with proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, the capacity to manage multiple priorities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline is required for this role.

Seeking candidates with a solid 2–4 years of professional background in accounting, finance, grants management, or closely related disciplines. Demonstrated experience with donor-funded initiatives is particularly advantageous.

Seeking candidates with either partial or full certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ARCA).

Technical Skills: Demonstrates advanced expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications, with a particular emphasis on Excel, including mastery of pivot tables and complex formulas, as well as computerized accounting software.

Competencies: Demonstrated proficiency in numerical analysis, an unwavering commitment to precision, uncompromising ethical standards, and the capacity to manage sensitive data with discretion.
