Position Summary

Reporting to the Team Leader – Merchandising, the Field Merchandising Representative (FMR) will execute merchandising initiatives, optimize shelf visibility, uphold stock availability, facilitate returns governance, and collect market intelligence in designated retail locations. Positioned as the primary operational liaison for the company within the trade environment, the FMR drives on-ground execution and brand presence.

Lead critical initiatives, manage cross-functional projects, and maintain high standards of efficiency and effectiveness in all assigned tasks. Ensure adherence to FIFO (First-In-First-Out) stock rotation principles with rigorous compliance.

Review all inventory items with approaching expiration dates and promptly report any such stock to the appropriate parties for immediate action.

Remove any stock that is damaged or past its expiration date from the shelves in compliance with established company guidelines.

Analyze outlet stock levels and maintain appropriate inventory based on trends in product movement.

Efficiently oversees the processes associated with returns, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops and implements governance frameworks to optimize return operations, enhance accountability, and mitigate risks. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline return workflows, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce operational inefficiencies. Analyzes return data to identify trends, assess performance metrics, and recommend strategic improvements to enhance overall efficiency and profitability.

Ensure meticulous documentation and verification of all returned outlets to maintain precise records.

Verify that Goods Return Notes (GRNs) are accurately prepared, including all necessary supporting documentation.

Physically inspect all returned items to ensure their condition and accuracy prior to arranging collection.

Swiftly report any returns deemed suspicious or lacking clear justification without delay.

Facilitate the reconciliation and accountability processes associated with returns management to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role focuses on cultivating and sustaining strong partnerships with retail outlets, ensuring seamless collaboration and mutual growth. Key responsibilities include negotiating contracts, monitoring sales performance, and resolving any operational issues to maintain high service standards. Additionally, the position requires regular visits to partner locations to assess needs, provide training, and gather market feedback. Prepare and submit accurate merchandising, stock, attendance, and market intelligence reports in a timely manner.

Guarantee adherence to established operational policies, hygiene protocols, and product handling guidelines within the organization.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are required to collaborate effectively with team members. Knowledge of project management methodologies and prior leadership experience are highly desirable. We require applicants to have attained a minimum GCSE Certificate as part of the eligibility criteria.
