POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Coordinator oversees daily facility maintenance activities, including repairs to buildings, water systems, grounds, furniture, nonmedical equipment, and waste management across hospital premises. Their role ensures all areas remain in optimal and safe conditions at all times. Additionally, they support the Facility Manager/Director in maintaining smooth operations and infrastructure integrity while coordinating building and construction-related projects.

Managed and executed maintenance tasks for all assigned facility assets overseen by the Facility Manager/Director.
Provide support in the preparation, advancement, and implementation of authorized construction and renovation initiatives.
Develop and enforce a maintenance strategy using the CMS (computerized asset management system) to ensure consistent follow-through, while providing support to the maintenance team to meet the facility’s maintenance objectives.
Serves as the designated internal auditor, responsible for reviewing and assessing all assignments, tasks, and deliverables executed by external contractors to ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.
Compiles comprehensive documentation for internal construction initiatives, including bill of quantities (BOQ’s), project plans, inspection reports, and handover documentation.
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and sustaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), in addition to delivering user training. Each year, the position conducts a comprehensive review of system data and collaborates with the Facility Manager or Director to address discrepancies and ensure information remains current.
Direct and develop the maintenance team by ensuring adherence to approved practices and procedures for effective facility and equipment upkeep.
Collaborates with various departments to align maintenance operations, ensuring seamless departmental functionality and effective execution of maintenance tasks.
Assists the Facility Manager/Director by contributing to the creation and execution of maintenance schedules for facility infrastructure and associated nonmedical equipment that are not covered under a service agreement.
The maintenance department relies on consistent oversight of supplies, tools, and equipment inventories to ensure seamless operations. It is essential to verify that maintenance personnel are equipped with and properly use the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and resources for their assigned duties.
Manages all casual staff engaged in internal building projects, verifying compliance with the hospital’s employment policy standards.
Records maintenance activities, achievements, and notable events in detailed reports, which are then submitted to the Facility Manager or Director for review.
Collaborates with the maintenance team to execute maintenance tasks, performing hands-on maintenance and construction duties encompassing buildings, water and wastewater systems, electrical systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).
Supervises the restoration of associated tools and equipment, either independently or in collaboration with certified staff members and external service providers as needed.
Maintains a current repository of both electronic and physical copies of equipment manuals and schematic diagrams provided by manufacturers.
Maintains adherence to safety protocols by consistently utilizing appropriate protective gear during task execution.
Demonstrates clear and professional interaction with colleagues concerning equipment, facilities, and their appropriate utilization.
The maintenance team’s performance is documented and communicated to the Facility Manager or Director.
Under the direction of the Facility Manager/Director, develop and oversee the creation of work schedules for the assigned teams.
Ensures the proper storage, issuance, utilization, maintenance, and overall management of all maintenance-related tools and assets assigned to the hospital.
Be prepared to respond to calls at any time, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required.
Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety policies and procedures throughout all operational activities, diligently utilizing and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
