Secure financial stability by strategically mobilizing resources, mitigating risks, and exercising prudent stewardship over university assets.

Oversee the development of human resources, talent management initiatives, and performance management systems.

Foster a student-focused environment where well-being, security, and educational quality are prioritized and continually improved.

Facilitate comprehensive organizational change initiatives while enhancing digital capabilities and optimizing service delivery processes.

Develop and sustain high-impact collaborations with key stakeholders across industry, government, donors, and international organizations to advance shared objectives.

Maintain strong governance practices, demonstrate ethical leadership, and ensure institutional accountability.

As Secretary to the University Council and its Committees, you will chair the Management Board, Senate, and additional University Committees as outlined in the Statutes.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, alongside a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including but not limited to Python, Java, or C++, is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment, are also necessary. Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile practices is preferred. Exceptional communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders are required to convey complex information effectively.

Applicants are required to have:

A PhD earned from an accredited university is required, with prior experience in a professorial role serving as an additional benefit.

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of a decade of distinguished academic and administrative expertise, complemented by a demonstrated history of effective educational leadership at the Deputy Vice-Chancellor level or a comparable position. (Prior service as a Dean or Principal within a college setting would be particularly advantageous.)

Proven track record of strategic leadership yielding tangible results.

Demonstrates a strong track record of leadership in research initiatives, driving innovation, and overseeing academic governance structures.

Accomplished academic and research background, characterized by a substantial number of publications in prestigious, internationally acclaimed peer-reviewed journals, as well as a history of delivering presentations at global conferences.

Extensive background in securing resources, overseeing financial operations, and strengthening organizational frameworks is required.

Proven capacity to cultivate relationships, secure funding, and mobilize resources, as well as successfully obtain research grants.

Demonstrates a proven history of spearheading transformative initiatives and achieving quantifiable outcomes.

Demonstrates unwavering ethical conduct, personal integrity, and a steadfast dedication to upholding the principles of good governance as outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
